Under the “copy all data” section, if the feature, tile, or vector tile are selected, then the publish button grayed out. What could be the issue here?

Even When publishing with “map image” option under the “copy all data section”, the physical data is saved in “arcgisserver” folder (as per the screenshot below) but not in “arcgisdatastore”. What could be the issue here?

This is what’s confusing me the most; the function of the configured “ArcGIS Data Store”. As if it has no function at all!

But why do we still have reference\copy options when publishing with “map image” format as per the screenshot below? With the referenced “map image”, I assume that the data will never be copied to the server. Am I correct?

But if the referenced “map image” option is selected, then why do we need to re-publish the service to get the edits reflected? With the regular “ArcGIS Server”, we don’t need to republish the data to get the edits reflected. Why the “federated arcgis server” requires republishing the data to get the edits reflected?

I figured out to plot the flow chart in the screenshot below trying to learn the advantage of an option over the other. Does this mean that the difference between the “ArcGIS Data Store” over the regular “Data Store” is just where the physical data is stored when publishing with “Copy” option?

I’m not sure if the flow chart below is correct when it comes to the option available for publishing However, what could be the advantage of having the “ArcGIS Data Server” over the regular “Data Store”?

But how this option is available in case of file geodatabase? Editable map service (feature service) requires layers that are stored in enterprise geodatabase. Am I correct?

It would be great if we are gaining more functionalities\capabilities with the branch technology without losing performance or having the data got fat. We will be putting it into operation to test the performance and the data size. Have you any idea regarding how the size of data grows as the “archiving” is enabled with the branch technology or if there is any clue with respect to the difference between publishing the data stored in file geodatabase or branched enterprise geodatabase?

This is exactly my question. Then why it’s mandatory to have the “archiving” and “editor tracking” selected and grayed out by default? Doesn’t that cause the data to get dramatically fat?
