Hi Jamal, The tools you are refering to are called the Navigator Toolbar tools and they are present in ArcPad on the map instead of on a toolbar. They are designed as a set of use-once tools that can be used for quick navigation (zoom in, zoom out, pan, full extent) when using other data editing tools. The Navigator Toolbar can be customized to make the tool selections permanant - but then you have lost the ability to use the navigation tools while editing. Hannah 🙂 Many thanks Hannah, I??m coming from the school of ArcMap and sounds that it is not easy to live with the limitations/behavior of the ArcPad. Hope i can get used to soon. Best Jamal

Are you using the GG03 or GG02 plus? If not, then Zeno Connect will not be needed. If you are only using the internal SiRF GPS chipset, you can set your COM settings accordingly. If you are using the GG03 or GG02 plus, then yes, Zeno Connect will handle the configuration of the GG0X unit as well as configuring the NMEA sentences for use in ArcPad. Many thanks Brett, Sounds that the ??GG03? and ??Zeno Connect? come as optional features Then do I need to purchase hardware (GG03) and software (Zeno Connect) just to get my GPS device (leica CS25) connected with my laptop/tablet machine?

Are you using a GG03 or GG02 plus with the CS25 unit or just the SiRF chipset in the CS25 unit? If using the GG03 or GG02 plus, then it is possible through a product called Zeno Connect. Zeno Connect would be installed on the laptop, then a bluetooth or cabled connection to your GG03/GG02 plus unit. Thank you Brett for the very useful answer. Sound that I need to purchase the ??Leica Zeno Connect? software to be able to connect my GPS device with the laptop. http://www.leica-geosystems.com/en/Leica-Zeno-Connect_103102.htm , If I manage to install the ??Leica Zeno Connect?, will I be able to have the ??capture point?, ??capture vertex? and ??capture vertices? grayed on? If the points you wish to navigate to are in the .APM file or loaded in ArcPad as a shapefile, then yes. Once they are open in ArcPad you can use the Find feature, search for the point feature class, then in the results page select the feature and use the GoTo function. This will give you navigation (bearing and distance) to the point. You can also just select the GoTo function (Browse Tools tab>Identify dropdown>GoTo). Then "tap" on the screen and it will navigate you to that point. Note that the tap on the screen will be exactly where you tap, not necessarily snap to a piont, so it is best to be zoomed in when you making your tapping gesture. Thank you Brett for the help, Could you please elaborate a bit more regarding sticking out. Suppose that I want to stick out the point below in the field X=160000 Y=170000 I assume that this point must be provided to the GPS device such that the device can compare between its location and the current location of the GPS device. As the user can see the current location of the GPS device and the required point then he/she can manage to reach it. Does the ArcPad work this way?

If I can add to that: You choose your coordinate system when you create your feature class in ArcMap, before you even use the ArcPad data manager. Hope this helps. Many thanks Brett and jared for the help. , , I thought that the coordinate system can still be set from the ArcPad. Best Jamal

Once you have completed the polyline tap the green arrow (points to the right) at the bottom left hand portion of the ArcPad application. This will proceed to the attributes, enter them if necessary, then tap OK. Many thanks Brett for the help. It works fine. , Best Jamal
