This seemed to be intermittent issue and after creating new project it behaved normally and I was able to add control points to georeferenced pdf.

Could you please enable users to add control points to PDFs that have been exported with geospatial information? This would allow them to adjust and reposition PDFs that may not properly align with their design.

I am currently working to set up a planar basemap and publish it to ArcGIS Online, but I have been unable to find comprehensive guidance on the full workflow. My goal is to configure a grid in feet and define cell sizes (e.g., 1x1, 2x2, or 10x10 feet). I would appreciate any insights or best practices others may have on achieving this. Additionally, it would be highly beneficial if this level of grid control could be supported independently of the basemap in the future. While the feature itself is very useful, its current limitations and complexity make it challenging to implement effectively.

That is a great tip, but it does add complexity compared to other applications that had measure tool available where you can chose what unit of measure you want (Planar/Geodesic) I hope this is something that can be implemented into web editor. Appreciate the response. Thank you!

I’m aware of the Transform tool, but it doesn’t solve the core issue we’re running into. A significant portion of the CAD files we receive—especially from third parties—are either unprojected, inconsistently projected, or come in with incorrect scaling relative to our basemap imagery. While we can manually correct these using existing tools, the problem is that this becomes a repetitive, time-consuming process that we have to redo over and over again for the same file with new versions. What we really need is the ability to dynamically stretch or adjust CAD data so it aligns with our projection and imagery—similar to how we can handle PDFs or raster datasets. That kind of functionality would eliminate a huge amount of redundant work and significantly improve efficiency in our workflows. We already make every effort to project CAD files correctly on our end, but when incoming data doesn’t follow the same standards, we’re left constantly fixing the same issues instead of moving forward with actual production work. This isn’t just a minor inconvenience—it’s a recurring bottleneck. Having a more flexible, persistent adjustment method for CAD data would make a meaningful impact on productivity and data consistency across projects. I strongly hope this is something that can be implemented.

Could you please consider enabling users to natively specify grid size in feet, meters, or their preferred working units? This is a valuable feature, but it currently feels somewhat incomplete compared to the functionality available in ArcGIS Pro.

Agree, I posted new idea in the right place. thank you for calling that out. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-web-editor-ideas/measure-tool-in-web-editor/idi-p/1692369 I have changed this idea to ARC Pro related functionality.

The current Web Editor lacks a fundamental capability: the ability to measure directly on the map. This is a critical gap in usability and forces users to rely on workarounds, such as publishing custom measurement layers—something that should not be necessary for basic functionality. Experience Builder already provides this capability out of the box, and Web Editor should offer the same standard. Adding built-in measurement tools would significantly improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and eliminate unnecessary overhead for users.

Currently, ArcGIS Pro supports rubbersheeting for PDFs and raster datasets using multiple control points (more than two), which provides flexibility and improved spatial accuracy. However, this capability is not available for AutoCAD/DWG files, where georeferencing is limited to only two control points. I would like to request an enhancement to the georeferencing tools in ArcGIS Pro to enable full rubbersheeting functionality for AutoCAD/DWG files, allowing the use of multiple control points similar to PDFs and rasters. This improvement would significantly enhance alignment accuracy and usability when working with CAD data. Thank you for your consideration.

I’m honestly surprised this idea only has 2 Kudos. The ability to set default units of measure should be standard functionality and configurable based on user needs. Many of us work in environments where miles or feet are not the preferred units, yet the Dashboard measure tool currently limits us to only those two options. For teams working with metric standards or project-specific unit requirements, this creates unnecessary friction and inconsistency in workflows. A simple setting to define default measurement units would significantly improve usability and align the tool with real-world operational needs. What makes this even more limiting is that we have not been able to find any programmable workaround. There is currently no way to override or control the measurement units through configuration, scripting, or customization. That removes flexibility for power users and organizations that rely heavily on automation and standardized environments. With over 2,000 views and four years since the idea was posted, it clearly reflects a genuine demand. I strongly support giving this idea more visibility and prioritizing this enhancement. Best regards, Miralem Zeljo

It is good to see that I am not the only one confused as to what the difference is and why half the time package tool does not even work when you try to package PPKX. We found that creating APTX works best and then we rename it to PPKX so it can be opened by Arc Pro with a double click. APTX you have to use as new project from template option. I am hoping that this process can be simplified and we can get to creating PPKX files without all the extra hoops.

Darryl, you are certainly not alone. We have also been unable to share packages for reasons that remain unclear. Although the previous revision allowed us to get it working through a geoprocessing tool, the latest revision has introduced new issues — even when using the current version and the same geoprocessing approach. I sincerely hope Esri treats this with the seriousness it deserves and strengthens its debugging processes. Early Adopter participation is a step in the right direction, but realistically, most leading software development companies invest heavily in thorough, systematic debugging to prevent situations like this. @ESRI Quality Control Team
