I'm going to attempt a few things mentioned here like the drivers and also using the debug tool <SHIFT-E> to try and see why at some times tools in editing work fine and then suddenly other times I get the spinning slow blue wheel of aggravation. Though I'm not very familiar with the readout and what my computer can do and what it should be doing in Pro (with such things as "FPS", "Triangles per frame", "Vertex & Index Buffers, etc). I will also try switching from DX11 to OpenGL if I can figure out how and see if that also helps improve things... https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/3d-gis/troubleshooting-performance-issues-in-arcgis-pro/?rmedium=redirect&rsource=blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2016/07/26/pro_performance_troubleshooting

I have found a very odd issue in Pro that doesn't seem to be an issue in ArcMap at all when using the Reshape tool while editing polylines. I have noticed when I'm reshaping a polyline with line and arc segment, that sometimes I end up getting these weird circles that get created away from the actual feature. In my project they are giant circles that for, despite the actual polyline feature being not that long (Image1.jpg). This seems to happen only when using combinations of the line and arc segment and doesn't seem to happen with just using line. It also doesn't always happen and just seems random when it does. In my test shapefile I was using to try and figure out the cause, I don't get these giant circles, but I do get at time, small circles that aren't connected to my polyline (image3_test1.jpg showing the original feature) (image3_test2.jpg showing the reshaped feature and the 2 circles that were created) The only way I know for sure if a feature I edit is fine, is to look at the endnode and then flip the feature to verify I can see the endnode on the other side (Image2.jpg showing how it should look with the endnode being shown and then again flipping the polyline). Anytime I see a normal node, I know a circle has been created somewhere and I have to then go and split the end of the polyline with the normal node and delete that part and re-attach the polyline to the same endpoint as the segment I split and deleted. This of course is getting to be time consuming. As mentioned with the testfile and project file, I am not getting this issue at all in ArcMap using the Reshape tool on the same testfile polyline using the same method. Any clue as to what's causing this? Is it a bug with the Reshape tool?

Dominick: I just Googled any one of the TTF files such as "DDVCO01E.TTF" and found the website, but I just did that now and can't find it anymore. I figured the original PDF would have a link, but it only shows the email address when searching for that "[email protected]" I am also unable to pull anything up with the highway symbols, just another pdf with other symbols that are similar, but no web address. So seems like it's off the web now which sucks. So hold on to what you have and I'm going to have to do the same here. Still it's very strange there isn't a standard out there that has all these fonts and such for easy download, or if there is, I am unaware of it...

Ok turned on the intersection snapping which I had off and then tried it and it only selects the top one if I select the intersection as it normally does. But with your suggestion using the splitting line and the connecting that to the intersection, that seems to now split the other line. So testing it a few times seems to be consistent and that very well may be the solution for my Issue 2, I'll have to keep trying it to see if it continues to act the same, but for now it seems to work. Thanks Scott. UPDATE And it suddenly now stopped working as it was. This may be part of the same issue as my Issue 1 where it seems to work as intended and then for some reason just stops working and then randomly works later on. Did the same test a few times the same way and now it just won't do it. So not sure why, but maybe it will be fixed in 2.5. Now interesting enough, when these splits stop working, if I just do a normal single split anywhere on the line, that Splitting Line then works again at least for the intersections. So that Splitting Line might be getting hung up somewhere in the background or something and that's why it doesn't work all of a sudden, but then resets when just a normal split without it is executed? Thanks for trying though Scott... Pete

I just tried it with the "Allow splitting without a selection" off and it displays of course the NAME or in my case the OBJECTID as I have it set as that as you showed in the Display. When I do this, it will split the first line as normal (the vertical line as it did before if I had that option off), the 2nd line (horizontal) now either does nothing if it's the only one selected or creates a leader line and it gives me this error (despite me double clicking as I always have to split a line so that I wouldn't need a leader line): So I'm still having the same issue where one line seems to work, but the other doesn't. If I turned on the "Allow splitting without a selection" back on. When I try to split in the intersection, it's the vertical line that gets selected and broken. So either way, I still can't get the horizontal line in this example to split at the intersection. As with snapping, this is a single layer where both of these polylines are in and snapping is on, or I just use the <SPACE> to temporarily disable it if I need to. So no, I'm actually not relying on anything other than either the line selected as you mentioned and it's not working, or just eyeballing it and trying to figure out another way to select the correct line. But as you mentioned it should be improved in 2.5 and will just rely on that one. The main thing is why my ISSUE 1 above is sometimes working and other times not and just seems completely random when it wants to work or not...

In the past it seemed splitting a polyline segment while clicking on the line took a very long time. That at least seems to have been fixed and is now very fast which is great. ISSUE 1 I'm having is an inconsistency of using the split tool by using the dashed construction line rather than just clicking on the polyline itself in case I wanted to split a polyline in more than one segment or if I wanted to split 2 polylines at different spots at the same time. Using this split construction dashed line it seems to sporadically work. Sometimes doing exactly what I want, other times, just splitting the polyline in one of the 2 or more places I select or sometimes not splitting at all and still saying it was successful. I've tried using both the "Allow splitting without a selection" and with it and no difference. ISSUE 2 Another issue is if I two polyline segments that meet at an intersection and only one polyline needs to be split (for example one is a road that is named something and the other is a road that has different names on either side of the intersection) that I can't seem to select the correct line to split. Pro just seems to randomly select one of the polylines and splits that. Again, I've tried using the "Allow splitting without a selection" on and off and it still doesn't matter. How can I split only one polyline I want and not the other at an intersection? Images Issue1a.jpg - Example of a single polyline where I want a single split to be Issue1b.jpg - Example of a single polyline where I want it to be split in 2 spots Issue1a.jpg - Example of 2 polylines and I want to split only A and not B, however when hovering over the intersection, it shows Line B will be split and not A.

Followed your advice and updated every driver that was outdated and same issue (though I don't get the black screen as above, but do get the endless spinning wheel over and over again) which requires me to exit Arc Pro and restart it. Not sure why this suddenly happened over that one weekend in Dec, but hasn't worked since. As a work around though, I've been using the "What's Here" too which gives me the coordinates at the bottom and I can copy those into Google Maps easily enough. Here's some of the Specs on the computer: RADEON Pro WX 4100 32GB RAM i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20 GHz Now I doubt this would have anything to do with Arc Pro at all, but I do turn off these for my Computer under My Computer the System Properties/Performance Options on the computer the following (because they are highly annoying): Animate controls and elements inside windows Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing Fade or slide menus into view Fade or slide ToolTips into view Fade out menu items after clicking. Just thought I'd add that just in case some odd reason there's a connection...

Here is what happens after I attempt to now use the Get Coordinate Tool. The black screen keeps flashing endlessly. The day before it would stop, but today it just keeps flashing on and off repeatedly and I have to exit out of Pro and restart. The current work around is using the What's Here? tool, but no idea what suddenly caused this weird issue on multiple coworkers computers after the past weekend?

I've been using Arc Pro for about 2 months now and never had an issue getting the "Get Coordinates" tool to work. After the weekend I am now having an issue with that tool for all my maps. Either using the right-click or using my keybind I have it mapped to, it doesn't copy it at all so that I can paste into Google Maps. Nothing seems to copy. When I go back to Pro to try it again, I just get the spinning "Thinking" circle and then after about 2 seconds it stops and that's it. I have got it to work once today and that was it, so it's very odd. My first thought was to do a repair on the *.aprx, but then found out there isn't a aprx Doctor as ArcMap had. As well it's not limited to just one project and is happening across the board for me. Rebooting the computer didn't help at all and I just tested it out on a coworkers computer and they have the same issue now. I am unsure if any other tools are also affected, but so far this is the only one that I'm having issues with that I've come across. Any suggestions as to what's going on?

My only guess why it has it's own folder is to keep the Computers Font Folder less cluttered and more manageable or something to have their own. It's just that of course any fonts downloaded from ESRI will install it there, but older fonts like the Highway ones of course wouldn't have that capability. Just one of those things people need to realize when trying to use any older Fonts they may have created or downloaded from older or other sources...

Ahh we got hit too (and a snow day as well). I work for DRCOG downtown Denver. I've noticed people requesting those Symbols for other states too, so it's a pretty big thing and perfect standard for all sorts of maps. I just found it odd Pro has it's own font folder. I wonder if there's a way for someone to edit the *.TTF files to also install them in the Arc Pro's font folder as well. Much like the ESRI fonts you can download do?

I found a link to a site that had them all since the guy at DDV retired. Still pretty cool after over a decade and a half, they are still being utilized all over the nation by people. Also makes me wonder why they haven't been incorporated by ESRI. You have a good holiday weekend too (I'll try and rescue mine as my flight to Europe was cancelled due to the bad weather we just had yesterday, ugh)...

Hey Robert, yeah we still use them all the time and I was worried I'd have to try and make them all from scratch. It was good to finally find out it wasn't the actual Font that was the issue. Now if someone can't can't another font they used to use in Pro to work, I now know how to solve it...
