ArcGIS Pro makes two separate checks when signing in. One is to the licensing portal to authenticate the user and the other is to the ArcGIS License Manager that is associated with the licensing portal to checkout an ArcGIS Pro license. The port that ArcGIS License Manager is using needs to be accessible to the computer running ArcGIS Pro and I am not sure how you would do that securely in a cloud environment. In my case my servers are on-premises, my portal URL is publicly accessible through the internet, but my port for ArcGIS License Manager is not. I have to use a VPN to connect to my local network to use ArcGIS Pro when I am not at the office. I posted an ArcGIS Idea over a year ago Have ArcGIS Pro get license from License Manager through ArcGIS Portal but there was no interest in it.

Hi @RemiMyers Thank you for the link, and adding the fittings back into the model manually is what I will have to do at this point. However, I still do not understand why the fittings were completely removed in the first place. Fittings seem like a common asset that should be part of the foundation of any utility data model, so I am a little confused why Esri removed fittings from the Stormwater data model entirely. To try to maintain future compatibility would it be better to copy the schema of the Water or Sewer fittings? I am looking at the two data dictionaries and I expected them to be almost identical but the asset type codes and fields are definitely different.

For some reason fittings were removed from the Stormwater Data Model at version 4. They were under Stormwater Junctions. Clean Outs were also removed from Stormwater Junctions but they were added to Stormwater Devices. The current data dictionary for 10.9.1 still does not have any reference to fittings that I can find. Please add fittings back to the Stormwater Data Model. Maybe it could be similar to how fittings are setup in the Sewer Data Model?

Thank you @KoryKramer for the information. However, I am looking for something like the functionality that ArcCatalog has were you can check a box in ArcCatalog Options to have that sync run when you view the metadata. Thank you for the information on the Synchronize. That helps but I like having the option to have that sync happen automatically. Do I need to change the name of this idea to make it more clear? Also, can you please unmark this as "Already Offered"?

I would like to see an option in ArcGIS Pro to have some metadata automatically be populated similar to what ArcCatalog does. Some examples of what I am referring to are: Overview->New Bounding Box (or Resource->Extents->Bounding Box) Overview->Title Metadata->Details->File Identifier Resource->Spatial Reference->Reference System->Dimension Resource->Spatial Reference->Reference System->Code Resource->Spatial Reference->Reference System->Code Space Resource->Spatial Reference->Reference System->Version Resource->Distribution->Distribution Format->Format Name Resource->Distribution->Distribution Format->Format Version Resource->Fields->Entity and Attribute Information

Your organization only needs one Creator license to be the admin and the rest of the accounts can be Viewer, Field Worker, or Editor licenses. Each person filling out the secure survey would need a Field Worker license which is $350/user/year according to this page on Esri's website https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-online/buy . Long ago I was told if you need to purchase additional named users the user type pricing for ArcGIS Enterprise is the same as ArcGIS Online. Personally, I wish they would combine the Viewer and Editor user types into one user type and add the ability to fill out Survey123 surveys through the web interface to that new user type.

Everyone that is going to fill out the secure survey must have a Field Worker, Creator, or GIS Professional license. The viewer role will not work unless the survey is public, at least that was the case the last time I tried using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8. I created an ArcGIS Idea asking Esri to treat a survey or feature service shared with the organization similar to how it is with a public survey or feature service, except the public cannot access it. Unfortunately, the idea never gained any traction. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-enterprise-ideas/add-functionality-similar-to-public-editing-at-the/idi-p/1037846#M2439

Currently, when using ArcGIS Pro with licensing through ArcGIS Enterprise the Download Now button is disabled when an update is available. I would like to see a way where ArcGIS Pro updates can be obtained through ArcGIS Enterprise. The idea here is that would allow organization GIS admins to download the patch manually from My Esri and test the patch for their organization. Then if they are okay with the patch they can somehow upload it to ArcGIS Enterprise and then their users would get the alert that an update is available. That would let the users know that the update have been tested and should not cause major issues.

Thank you, but I think I am just going to add the fittings asset group back to the Stormwater Junction and recreate the domain that goes along with it. I am just having trouble understanding why Esri got rid of fittings for stormwater utility networks. I would be surprised to learn that most stormwater networks do not have any fittings and that is why Esri got rid of them.

Thank you for the suggestions. However in the latest version of the Stormwater Utility Network Esri removed the "Fitting" asset group and the domain associated with it according to the change log and if you search the Stormwater Utility Network Service data dictionary for "fitting" there are no results. A similar search in the Sewer Utility Network Service data dictionary returns a listing for the "Sewer Fitting asset group". So I am trying to figure out what Esri wants people to do with fittings in their stormwater network. Cleanouts for example were removed from the StormwaterJunctions and added to the StormwaterDevices. I suppose I could make all our fittings generic Pipe Connections, but I would rather not lose all of our fitting data. I suppose I can try to find an older copy of the Stormwater Utility Network Service and add the Stormwater Fitting asset group back along with the associated domain.

I am looking into deploying the Stormwater Data Management for ArcGIS Enterprise solution to migrate our stormwater utilities that are currently in the Local Government Information Model (LGIM) geometric network format to a utility network. While reviewing the Asset Package in the Stormwater Data Management for ArcGIS Enterprise solution I could not find anything for fittings such as tees, bends, couplings, etc. I found the release notes for the Asset Package Version 4 and it says fittings were removed from the package along with the associated domain. Can fittings be migrated to the Stormwater Utility Network? If so, what should the fittings be mapped to?

The issue is fixed for me at 2.8.2. However, at least on ArcGIS Pro 2.8.2, do not upgrade the pandas package above version 1.2.3. Any pandas version higher than 1.2.3 causes the arcgis package to fail upgrading from 1.8.5 to 1.9.0. If arcgis 1.9.0 is already installed then every Notebook will throw an error in ArcGIS Pro when you try to run the Notebook, until you roll pandas back to 1.2.3.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have also tried converting some of our named user ArcGIS Pro licenses to single use and applying them to individual devices for some of my users that are off network the most. I hope someday ArcGIS Pro licensing with Enterprise can work like it does with ArcGIS Online.

Thank you for the recommendation and I'll mark it as the solution, but that is not a great solution for us. One of our reasons for going with Enterprise years ago was to take advantage of LDAP integration for user sign ins to keep things as simple for our users as possible. I understand ArcGIS Online now has SAML support, but we do not have support on our end. Are there any plans to have Enterprise act as the proxy between License Manager and ArcGIS Pro? It seems to me that would make more sense than the current method since Enterprise is already talking to License Manager to allow admins to assign ArcGIS Pro licenses through the Enterprise web UI. Another option could be to provide a "web adaptor" for License Manager to hide the internal port and host name and provide other security features required for an internet exposed service. Thank you for taking the time to chat with me about this.
