Jake, Thanks for the response. It is a geodatabase, and it does sit in SQL Server Express. I'll see if I can connect with arcpy. Thanks again!

I'm trying to write a script that will update records in an MDF database (SQL Sever Express). I was looking into using the pyodbc module and update the fields with Python. Is this possible? Has anyone connected and updated a MDF database this way? This is what I have so far. Is it worth it to continue with this script? Or am I wasting my time? Thanks for the help!

Have you tried updating the row with 'cursor.updateRow(row)'?

I figured it out... and of course, the answer laid within arcpy. Here is the sample code:

Dan, Thank you for the response. I'd like to run this script daily to get a total feature count of .DGNs being constantly edited/ updated. The average amount of .DGN files I'd like to get a count for would be around 60. Only once the a certain amount of .DGNs have been complete, I would like to convert to a shapefile format. I'll have to look into FME, though. It just seems like there would be a funtion in the GDAL module to easily complete this task.

Hello All, I was wondering if there was a quick way to get a total feature count of the 'Points' layer in a .DGN file. I have a ton of .DGN files that I need to get the feature counts of without straight up converting them into a shapefile first. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! -Mitch

I am trying to copy and table in a MS Access .mdb file to another .mdb file using Python. I am able to connect to the source .mdb and read through the tables. This is done using the pyodbc module. (SEE BELOW) I'm just having trouble copying them. Should I use shutil or os? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you inserting this into a Python script and having the script label the features? If so, could you please share. I've been stuck on this problem for a while now.
