Allow changing the color of label lines on pie charts in dashboard. Our corporate color for dashboard backgrounds is a medium darkish blue and the pie chart label lines (default color med grey) don't show up against this color. I see that I can change the opacity of the label line in Chart Options, but there doesn't appear to be n option to change the color of the label line. Jay

I have a list in which I would like to show ONLY the records selected on the map. I can add the Show Selected Tool, which lets the user get to that "selected records only" appearance, but is it possible to set the initial state of the tool to "ON", so that only the selected records show? Or is there some other way to limit the list to what has been selected in the map? Jay

Is this in Classic StoryMaps (via Configurable WebApps) or the new StoryMaps? If it is in Classic Story Maps, what style is it (Cascade, Tour, etc.)? Can you share a screen shot?

The MiFi will work, but from my perspective it is another piece of equipment to keep track of and another thing for the field crew to know how/remember to use. A device with a cellular plan JUST WORKS, with no fiddling around required. If you are aiming for simplicity (and that is ALWAYS a good goal), then the internet-enabled device with cell plan is the way to go. In my mind the only reason to use a MiFi is if you are super crunched for cash and can't justify the monthly fee for the cell plan. I definitely agree with staying away from disconnected editing if you can. Again, it works, but unless you need it because you work in areas without cell coverage, it is just another complication.

I have a COVID-19 dashboard that contains a serial chart showing Active Cases by age cohort (0-9, 10-19, etc.). I've been asked to show this same data, but based on Active Cases per 100,000 population in each age cohort (i.e. normalized). I have that population per age cohort data in another table. In the indicator widget, you can use "Value Conversion" to normalize the indicator by dividing by some factor. I don't see any way to do this in a serial chart. Is there some other way in AGOL to do an on-the-fly conversion of values by a factor in a serial chart? Jay

Thanks for sharing that! Yeah, my data is coming in as spreadsheets (the devil's database). Your "faxed database" gave me a chuckle. It is funny how certain sectors of industry seem to be frozen in 1976!

"Most seamless" would be to have internet connectivity on the device via cellular (an air card or something similar). Then it is kind of a no-brainer - the data just shoots right into your database (SDE or whatever) with no additional work required. Using a cell phone with Collector or Survey123 is a fairly low-tech way to go. But really, any of these setups would work.

Interesting, thanks Patrick. I've been able to work with my local E911 Dispatch center and they have been requesting Excel files from all the different carriers. Seems a rather old-school way to gather data, but it is getting the job done. I've signed up for the OpenCellID asite and it will be interesting to see how their data compares. Jay

Doesn't seem like this is possible. So we are pre-processing the data to get the moving average.

Chris, I generally use the "Add members without sending invitations" option, that way they are added whether they respond or not. Then I separately send them an email through our corporate email with detailed info on how to log in. It could be that users are less likely to open an email from ESRI than a personalized email from their GIS guru... Jay

Caitlin, That behavior looks like what happens when you have 1) a reference scale set on a map and 2) have enabled "Scale Symbols". To see if this is the issue, Right-click on the layer of interest, Properties, and uncheck the Scale Symbols option. Alternatively, right-click on the Map and Clear the Reference Scale. Jay

You could also create a table that has those hundreds of values that you want to select on, then join this new table to the original table using the field of interest. Then you can do a pretty simple Select by Attributes to get anything that doesn't have NULL in the joined table.
