I need to store the street name (and any other address information) of every new created point in ArcGIS Pro into a field of the feature layer. At first we had a polyline feature layer with address information and it was easy but now users are asking me to use the ArcGIS Online World Geocoding Service or any locator to do reverse geocoding. I don't see how to do it using arcade. Is it even possible? Is there any other option?

The multiple-device preview option is such a great idea to easily check how the story will be displayed on different devices, but it arises a new need and it's that of having separate options to configure your story for different screen sizes since the default options don't always work for your needs. The most critical options are those related to map scale. For example, a map using feature or label visibility based on scale will not show properly on smaller screens. And sometimes features simply look too small on phone devices. As an example, this is how a map with both feature and label visibility based on scale looks on a desktop browser and on a phone. I would need to (1) zoom in the map for phone screens and (2) set a simpler symbology for point features for that map scale. Right now I can configure feature and label visibility and symbology in my map to work for desktop and phone browser, but I cannot configure a different scale or extent for each. My idea is to have a tab inside the map's options to preview and configure the map scale and extent for small screens. It would also help to easily see what changes we have to make to web maps to adjust feature and label visibility to make them look properly in both screen sizes.

If the admin notices features that should not have been edited while reviewing the Version Changes page, individual edits can be selected and replaced with their "ancestor" version from the same page. But, are you talking about the Differences view or about the Conflicts view? They look almost the same according to the documentation (pics taken from ArcGIS Pro help), but do they really have the same options? I know the Conflicts manager has the 'Replace with common ancestor version' option when reviewing conflicts (if any detected) right after the reconcile is done (see Manage branch version conflicts), but I can't find documentation about the availability of this same option in the Version changes page (see View branch version changes).

For some reason the storymap titles in a collection not fitting in a single line are showing the text in the second line cut off. All themes have this same problem. I can't tell exactly when this started to happen but I'm sure it was working well in mid December. See an example:

This is the scenario we plan to use branch versioning to. No testing done yet, but need to know it this is possible: - A editor creates a named version and makes some edits to layers in a feature service from ArcGIS Pro. - They change the ownership of the version to the Admin user so that admins check changes using the Differences pane (Versioning tab > Version Changes) before reconcile and post is done. - An admin realizes some features that where modified, deleted or whatever shouldn't have been changed. Now, how can they recover the original features?

I thought this would be pretty simple using arcade but I'm getting an error when calculating a selection of features and it simple makes geometries to disappear when executing it for all features (the Shape_Length attribute gets value 0). The error is: 160107: Unable to update area or length field in response to shape update. Is there anything missing in this arcade expression? var paths = geometry($feature).paths;
var first_point = paths[0][0];
return Rotate($feature, 180, first_point)

The python field calculator is a good option actually. We wanted to use the existing tools in ArcGIS Pro as much as possible and also try to use Arcade as much as possible, but I see python is still the way to go for some processing. We are still evaluating all the geoprocessing needs of our users and maybe will consider using a custom python toolbox. We'll see.

I thought of the possibility of using Batch calculation rules so users would execute the rules whenever they need it. We should just publish our feature services with the validation capability enabled and create a database sequence (if the db admin approves). The problem here is that the user decides the layer and field they will populate so attribute rules are not an option. Using a calculate field expression is more convenient here but we wanted to use Arcade instead of Python.

The user inputs the val_counter value according to their needs, as well as the prefix and interval values. I guess interval will always be 1 but they are given the option to decide.

The rec variable is 0 for the first feature, so the returned valued is prefix + val_counter (PP_2498). But then the rec varaible should get the value in val_counter for the second feature returning prefix + val_counter + interval (PP_2499) and incrementing by interval for each next feature (PP_2500, 2501,...). Your function (mine was like yours) returns PP_2498 for every feature.

I have Python calculate field expression (.cal file) that does this but I'm trying to migrate it to Arcade. It's not working. The number part is not incrementing and I guess it has to do with me not being able of defining 'rec' as a global variable. This is the Python expression. How do I migrate the 'global rec' line to Arcade? #Params
val_counter = 2498
prefix = 'PP_'
interval = 1
# -------------------------------------------
# Function
rec=0
def SetIDcode(val_counter, prefix, interval):
global rec
if (rec == 0):
rec = val_counter
else:
rec += interval
return (prefix+ str(rec))

I tried this new feature when it was out. It is a great add to collections but now I see I cannot change the thumbnail for my embedded web page. When I publish the collection the thumbnail reverts to its original image (if any). In Decembers's release notes I see this listed: The story thumbnail reverts to the default thumbnail when the image is deleted from the story. Could this have anything to do with the behavior of the embed's thumbnail?

A customer is asking us to sync periodically two Azure geodatabases with branch versioning enabled. One of them is used for editing in the field and in ArcGIS Pro and the other one for viewing in a custom app. Is there any ESRI tool to do so? I can only think of a replica scenario but it's only available for traditional versioning. What's the alternative to geodatabase replication when working with branch versioning?
