You could use the Archive Option on One-Way replication via the DEFAULT version to decouple versioning from replication but this a pretty niche workflow. Good luck!

Have you updated your video card driver? One thing we see is the driver is out of date and a Windows Update will not provide the latest driver. Determine what make/model you have on your computer, go to the manufacturers website, download and install the latest driver. Another thing to try is toggle the OpenGL vs DirectX setting in Pro to see if that reduces crashes with the Animation issue. Good luck!

Hi Tami - when you unregister the replica pairs, it removes the connection between the parent/child geodatabases. Further, the hidden synchronization versions that are in the parent/child geodatabases are used to compare what's been added, updated, and/or deleted are also deleted. The only way I can think of getting those lost edits back would be from an incremental backup of the parent/child geodatabase. Could be wrong but that's my guess.

Sean Hlousek had a similar request via GISCO today. I was able to download the 50 States DDV symbol files internally and share them out with him. Sean posted them to GitHub at the following address: https://github.com/VerdantSkys/DDVs_ALL As Sean wrote - "All credit goes to Jim Mossman http://www.jmossmanart.com/ddv/ddv.html If you use these - you might go to that site and download them all. If you don't use these, or don't know what they are, you still might want to grab them and check them out. In my opinion, they give maps a real "local" feel and look sharp. (And they are fun). Just wanted to share that they are available again. If someone has a better file hosting site, it would be a good idea to make them available somewhere else. "

With the trial version, you get Installation Support from Esri Support Services. I'd recommend calling them at 888-377-4575

You're correct. In Pro, it will "update basemap." To get around this, go to the Project Pane, click Portal, click the cloud icon and search for a new basemap - USA_Topo_Maps for example and add it to the current map. Now you have two basemaps. From there, you can set scale dependent displays on both layers.

Luke - are you referring to the Basemaps that you can access via ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro? One suggestion is to use scale dependent displays on the basemap layer. Add the basemap twice to ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro. Set the scale dependencies on when each layer turns off/turns on.

Piterson - no, the "Create Enterprise Geodatabase" GP tool requires an ArcGIS for Server Enterprise *.ecp file to allow the GP tool to execute properly. With an Advanced ArcGIS for Desktop license, you can create a Desktop multiuser geodatabase (stored in SQL Server Express) using the Catalog/ArcCatalog application.

Andrew - no Pro "MXD Doctor" to my knowledge - there's not an ArcGIS Idea for this one yet either. I did look into earlier Esri Support Services calls about this error message and the end result was a corrupt *.aprx not recoverable. Do you have a backup copy stored elsewhere?

Best workflow to remove hidden synchronization versions is to synchronize back to the data receiver replica, resolve any conflicts (if any), unregister replicas (which will delete hidden sync versions), rep/post/rec to DEFAULT, and compress. From there, you can rebuild replica workflow. Not required certainly but you could do this if you think there is state pinning going on.

An older workflow (SDE Command Line) for a Full Compress and replication but it documents well. "Below are the steps for a successful compress: - Take a backup of the data. - It is important to have no locks on the data. Disconnect all the Users.* - Synchronize all the Replicas without making any edits. - If there remain any Sync Versions in the state tree after the resynch process, delete these Sync Versions using the Sdeversion -o delete option. - Reconcile/Post the data. - Compress the database twice." Good luck!

Gotcha. So did you unregister using the Replica Manager on both the parent and child replica sides?
