Paul, I really appreciate the response. On the first item, something must be going on with our ArcGIS Server. When I right click on that error and press “Register Data Source With Server” I get an error message that says the “The database is already registered as ArcGIS Server’s Managed Database”. On the second item, We’re running ArcGIS Server 10.6.1 and ArcGIS Pro 2.3.1. The one thing that I’m seeing that’s related is that when I go to the Configuration tab of the Share as Map Layer window, I do NOT have an option to Toggle on “Version Management”. I’ve Registered the dataset as “Versioned Managed”, so I’m pretty sure that’s all correct, but the “Version Management” option on the “Share as Map Layer” window is missing. Hello, I'm working with the Naperville Sample Utility Network Asset Package and I'm trying to Publish my ArcGIS Pro Map as a Map Layer to my ArcGIS Server. When I run the Analyze Tool I'm getting 2 errors: 1) Layer's data source must be registered with the server 2) Branch Versioned Dataset: "X" is not supported from a versioned workspace when the service is editable Both of these errors seems to be occurring on most of the layers on the map. I've followed the steps and procedures outlined to use a Utility Network Asset Package and I'm not sure where I went wrong. I think I'm on the last step. Thanks, Mike Hamsa...

Hello, We talked about this at the Developer's Summit, and it sounded like this was a possibility, but I wanted to post it here so it didn't get lost. We've have a great need to be able to edit (data/geometry/etc.) a non-sync enabled mobile map package. These updates would never get returned to Pro, or Desktop - they are just going to be made in the mobile map package so users can view those changes on the map. Thank you, Mike Hamsa

Thank you very much Paul - this morning I was able to get the Upgrade Asset Package geoprocessing tool to run. After that I was able to run through the Stage Asset Package geoprocessing tool successfully as well. I'm running the Apply Asset Package tool now. Thanks, Mike Hamsa

Hello, I'm looking for the most recent Naperville Electric Utility Network sample/demo asset package download and I'm having trouble finding it. On Friday I managed to find an older one, but when I tried to run the upgrade asset package geoprocessing tool in Pro 2.3 it just sat there and didn't do anything so I cancelled it and tried again with the same result. So, today I thought I'd just try to find the most recent one, but I haven't been able to do that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike Hamsa

Hello, Just to follow up on this, in case someone else runs into a similar problem, I think the issue was that the password I specified for the "Machine Administrator" did not meet Azure's minimum password requirements - it was too short - and the Cloud Builder didn't catch this as I was running through the wizard. I'm pretty sure that it was failing while setting up the Azure VM because of the password problem. Once I set a password that met Azure's minimum requirements for an admin account on a VM, it was successful. One other item I noticed is that I changed the resource prefix from rr (default) to gs and the Virtual Machine that the Cloud Builder created as part of my deployment has the prefix rr (instead of gs). Just a minor issue, and from what I can tell hasn't caused any issues, but I thought I'd bring it up. Mike...

Hello, Any ideas on this one? I don't think we're doing anything special on the Azure side; I really just let the Cloud Builder create all of the Azure resources it needed, so I'm assuming it should just run through. Has this sort of thing happened before? Should I blow all of these Azure Resources away and just try again? Just checking - any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Mike...

Harrold, Thank you – I’ll give that a try now. Question: Can I just run back through the Cloud Builder with the same deployment? Thanks again, Mike Hamsa Chief Technology Officer - GeoSpatial Innovations, Inc. P: 512-982-6735

Hello, Just wanted to clear this up in case anyone else has the same question. I was able to get this working after correctly requesting app permissions. Starting with Android 6.0 you have to request app permissions a little differently and once we got that wired up in the Xamarin Forms app, LocationDisplay started working as expected. If you are having problems starting LocationDisplay I'd suggest using StartSync on the DataSource because it does return more useful error information, I just missed it the first time around. Mike...

Hello, I'm trying to run the Cloud Builder for Azure and I'm running into an error after it run for about an hour and 45 minutes. "code": "VMExtensionProvisioningTimeout", "message": "Provisioning of VM extension 'DSCConfiguration0' has timed out. Extension installation may be taking too long, or extension status could not be obtained." I can provide the detailed log files. Any ideas? Thanks, Mike...

Hello, Initially this may be more of a confirmation that LocationDisplay works in a Xamarin Forms App. Right now I'm doing some testing in our app and when I set IsEnabled to true, I get a StatusChanged event notification, but IsStarted is set to false. It looks like IsEnabled is then set back to false as well, as if it didn't start. Reading the API reference, it says that if IsEnabled gets set back to false, there was an error starting the location display and you can use StartAsync on the DataSource if you need more error information because StartAsync returns an error. I couldn't find any error information returned from this method so I tried wrapping a call to StartAsync in a try/catch, and it does catch an exception, but the exception message is "One or more errors occurred". I cannot see any additional details about the errors. Code wise: Right now, I've added a new event handler for the Map.Loaded event. In my Map_Loaded event handled, I'm starting the LocationDisplay. For Android (where I'm currently testing), I've got the FINE, COARSE, and MOCK location permissions set as required. Here's my Map_Loaded method - it is really pretty basic, and it gets called after the map loads. private void Map_Loaded(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//EsriMap.LocationDisplay.ShowLocation = true;
//EsriMap.LocationDisplay.AutoPanMode = LocationDisplayAutoPanMode.Off;
EsriMap.LocationDisplay.IsEnabled = true;
} Does LocationDisplay work in Xamarin Forms app? If so, what is the best approach to getting this to work? I really just want it to turn on as soon as the map loads up. Thanks, Mike Hamsa

Morton, Thanks for the response. I'm trying to wire things up using the EventToCommand pattern for Xamarin Forms and it just isn't working. Seems to be fairly straightforward, but I'm not getting it. When wire up the event to command in XAML, my command doesn't get executed - I don't think its actually getting wired up correctly. When I wire up the event to command in code (view page constructor), I'm getting an unhandled exception when it tries to set the EventName on the behavior. I'll try a few more things and see what I can come up with. Thanks Again, Mike...
