I would add that this particular issue is a small but helpful improvement between 10.6.1 and 10.7. BUG-000115339 - Make Feature Layer on a layer that participates in the ALRS ignores the SQL Expression set in the script

I'm still going on about this edit log thing here. According to this link Migrating an LRS from a file geodatabase to a multiuser geodatabase—Roads and Highways Desktop | ArcGIS Desktop the LRS EDIT LOG should be versioned, and I get much different results querying the versioned view of the edit log. SELECT [ActivityType], count([ObjectId]) as Edits FROM .[RH].[LRS_EDIT_LOG_evw] group by ActivityType order by ActivityType ActivityType Edits 1 254 2 5504 3 43 4 1529 5 138 6 2470 7 135 12 518 13 3 SELECT [ActivityType], count([ObjectId]) as Edits FROM .[RH].[LRS_EDIT_LOG_evw] WHERE (NetworkId = 1 AND Substring(RouteID, 4 ,1) in (1, 2, 3, 4)) OR (NetworkId =2 AND Substring(RouteID, 1 ,1) in (1, 2, 3, 4)) group by ActivityType order by ActivityType ActivityType Edits 1 116 2 967 3 8 4 103 5 35 6 121 7 36 12 181 SELECT [ActivityType], count([ObjectId]) as Edits FROM .[RH].[LRS_EDIT_LOG_evw] WHERE NetworkId = 1 AND Substring(RouteID, 4 ,1) not in (1, 2, 3, 4) group by ActivityType order by ActivityType ActivityType Edits 1 138 2 4537 3 35 4 1426 5 103 6 2349 7 99 12 337 Lately my geodatabase compresses to about 30 or 31 states. These numbers make more sense and contain all the stuff I thought I was missing when I queried the base table Edit Log.

If I query my County LRM base table by for edit dates I get 2864 rows that have been edited in the same time period as my edit log stats. SELECT count(*) as EditCount, [LastEditedUser] FROM [RH].[LRS_COUNTY] where [LastEditedDate] is not null group by [LastEditedUser] EditCount LastEditedUser 9 User1 68 User2 640 User3 1967 User4 I also noticed my _evw view is missing edit tracking dates that exist in the base table. :{ I also can remove end dated features: SELECT count(*) as EditCount, [LastEditedUser] FROM [RH].[LRS_COUNTY] where [LastEditedDate] is not null and [LRSToDate] is null group by [LastEditedUser] EditCount LastEditedUser 5 user1 66 user2 464 user3 1940 user4

I think most of your benefits to the 10.7.1 upgrade have to do with the improvements and bug fixes with the enterprise portal, and perhaps the portal integration with data reviewer. KDOT is at 10.6.1 and in the process of upgrading to 10.7.1. I will let you know how that goes. Kyle

Maybe this is known, but my hypotheses is that if there were no events tied to the route, the edit isn't logged. I created a subordinate concurrent route for the Kansas Turnpike very recently and don't see it logged. Probably a lot of the ramp route reversals were implemented with data gaps so those weren't logged. I think that's the common connection. Is this a known behavior and I didn't know about it? It makes sense based on Esri's stated purpose for the table. Maybe to count edits more thoroughly we should query the editor tracking on routes. Kyle

We think there could be a pattern related to undoing the edits though the act of not saving edits in a version and then redoing the edits in that version. We are going to test this.

Either this table doesnt do what we think it does, or we will be filing a support ticket, because we are pretty sure it is not tracking all the edits we've done.

This SQL query give me breakdowns by state/nonstate system Total: ActivityType Edits 1 9 2 1203 4 86 5 11 6 35 7 17 12 107 13 3 State System Edits (we have 2 LRMS with state system) including ramps ActivityType Edits 1 2 2 243 4 31 5 5 6 6 7 1 12 51 Non State System Edits ActivityType Edits 1 7 2 960 4 55 5 6 6 29 7 16 12 56 The 3 "13" edit types were from a consultant and have null values on the row, I can't explain that. It is an interesting performance metric. I thought our State System edits would be higher, but this makes sense because we put our greatest effort into loading the State System as clean as possible. Most of these edits are calibrations of the nonstate classified system. I can also break them down by editor - we have three editors, one has done about 89 edits, one has done about 15, and the third did all the rest. I'm mostly surprised that we have not done or accounted for any reverse route edits.

I looked at a couple of our Diverging Diamond interchanges, and they are a little simplified. Our LRS is built from centerline geometry created by local public agencies, these two screenshots from Junction City and Overland Park both simplify the situation more than we would probably like, but we can work with it.

Another type of validation would be a "closed loop" validation that would allow validation of integrity of events that touch each other in the network. An example of this is the functional classification system for an example. As a general rule but with certain exceptions like state borders/extents, major airports, parks, and intermodal facilities, highways with functional classification greater than local are typically connected to other highways with functional classification greater than local without dangles or "gaps" across null or local functional classification values. It would be very similar to event on event, but it is more selectively looking for events touching other events, and ensuring there are no event gaps within subset values of events.

Hi Amit, Thanks for the link! That's great, I may have missed this from a recent presentation. Good to see. I will have to think of more to ask for then. How about an "Event on Route" check, that would validate whether events are registered to the dominant route (or not). This would be useful in a situation where a route dominance rule is altered, or a route edit is performed that alters the dominance relationship.

We would want cross event validation, for things like ensuring that all inventory routes have coverage for certain events. There are many event data cross-validation opportunities, like expected/valid surface width valid for different lane counts for an example. There are many events we should be able to validate if a median is present vs if a median is not present, or based on Facility Type we should be able to validate event coverage based on coded values.
