Robert, are there installation instructions for your custom widgets? Which folder do I copy the custom widget folder into? For example, do I copy your "StreetView" widget folder 1) into the \client\stemapp\widgets directory so that the widget will be available for all future apps I make in WAB, and/or 2) into my widgets folder of already-created apps, such as \server\apps\9\widgets? Best regards, Barnaby Edit: Never mind, I copied it into the \client\stemapp\widgets directory, and it works PERFECTLY!!!!!! AWESOME! Is there a Flex version of this app? Answer: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b4259b1cf73e4fa3b04e7bdf75fee29b (Robert, note that page title still says the widget is for Flex 3.6.)

Robert, My organization has a AGOL group account. From My Content on that account, I see no way to download any WAB apps I made online. This is a bummer, as it would be quite helpful to download apps I made online, saving me time. On WAB Dev installed on my local server, I see the download option, which I now use to deploy apps and host them locally. Cheers, Barnaby

Adam, When specifying a dynamic layer in your widget's settings, how does one specify if it should be on or off when the app is first displayed? [{"type":"Dynamic","name":"Landsat8","url":"http://myServer/arcgis/rest/services/up/Landsat8/MapServer"}] Best regards, Barnaby Edit: Another related question is that when I add a dynamic service as a layer, and turn it on in the app, all the contained layers in the service are turned on automatically, even though none are on by default in the service (as specified in the mxd which I published). Is there a way to not have all the contained layers in a service turned on by default when the overlying service is turned on?

Hi Adam, Thanks, I now understand what you mean by the Settings option in WAB builder. I had already added my dynamic layer services from my local server that way. But here is a stupid question that I bet you or Robert could easily answer: I do not have Portal installed. I started WAB Dev by hooking it to my AGOL group account and a registered app there. I then made my WAB app using your widget and my local services. It looks great in a browser on the server, and I can can even see the app in a browser on another system. However, when I close WAB Dev on the server, I can no longer see the app from a remote system. So I can only view the WAB app if WAB Dev is running on a browser on the server. This is odd. How can I access the WAB app from another system on the network if WAB Dev is closed on the server? Or must I install Portal on the server to have user access my WAB apps hosted on that server? Thanks, Barnaby Edit: The link to the app is in this form: http://myserver:3344/webappbuilder/apps/8/ If I use a different port number, would I be able to see the app from another system when WAB Dev is closed on the server?

Hi Adam, Your widget is working GREAT for me so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just Server 10.3, Web Adaptor, and WAB Dev installed, not Portal. I added the widget to the WAB Dev edition, and now I see it when editing an app, and my locally-hosted service has been added. All is good. Excellent work! The only thing in your instructions which I don't understand is this: "Under the Settings option in the Builder, add a JSON array containing the names and URLs of the MapServices that you want included in your Application." What Settings option? I don't see such an option anywhere. Best regards, Barnaby

Hi Robert, Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure at this point. I think I will eventually download it and host it locally, in which case I could add your widget. Please let me know if you can point me to instructions as to how to add custom widgets to AGOL-hosted WAB apps, as it would be great if I could do everything on AGOL without having to download and host the app. Best regards, Barnaby

Hi Robert, Here is perhaps a stupid question. Can your custom widgets be somehow used in AGOL WAB-based web mapping applications? I made one online (not using WAB Dev edition) which accesses services published on my local server, but it of course needs an ID widget. Could I somehow get your upcoming ID widget in there? Best regards, Barnaby

I see. Too bad the Query Widget isn't working for you, as it seems to be what you are looking for, as I am sure you thought. Here's a related thread which you may have seen: Customizing the Query Widget

I second the motion. The Portal/AGOL requirement for WAB is an unnecessary hassle for some.

I very strongly agree with Joe about the dire need for an Identify Widget. Without one, WAB is completely useless for my needs. All other widgets are secondary IMO. Other than the (current) lack of an ID widget, out-of-the-box WAB capability is quite good (including TOC/layer switching, bookmarks, measure, draw, legend, attribute widget, and more). I already was wondering about an ID widget in WAB: Will there be an Identify Widget for WAB Since Robert has invited a widget wishlist, I am dreaming about a tool/option for a WAB ID widget that would import custom Flex ID widget XML! My Flex ID widget XML is 1554 lines long!

How does one download code of a WAB app to customize it and eventually host on my server? I see a way to download the non-WAB app "templates", but I can't find a way to download WAB app code. Does one create and edit a WAB app online, and then download it for further customization using WAB Developer Edition which will soon be available (I assume)? I just started looking at WAB last week, and am rather clueless. I saw this: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=fffd70b754594c54bc58d90d4e897e19 but I'm wondering if one can download code for an app created online that already has your service layers and widgets in there. Thank you in advance...
