Hi Robert, A method to Drag-n-Drop basemaps to reorder them in the editing GUI would be great. Cheers, Barnaby

Robert, I can't get the proxy to work with ClientID/Secret using credentials for 1) the internally-shared AGOL Web Map called by my local WAB app, 2) my registered WAB Dev installation (unshared), or 3) the registered, internally-shared WAB app on my local server. If I make a proxy.config with either of those, the internal app can be accessed without entering AGOL credentials for a few minutes, after which AGOL credentials are required again. Adding the "rateLimit" lines mentioned above does not help. But I'm still testing... My AGOL username/password in the proxy works fine, and is persistent. Perhaps this is the best/only way to go for my situation. Cheers, Barnaby

Robert, Ok. I don't know about those options. Do you know where I can get more info on them? Are they set up on AGOL for your registered app or Web Map? Thanks, Barnaby

Ok, thanks, Robert. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. By the way, do you know of a way to encrypt the proxy.config file so that my AGOL password isn't easily readable to other users of my server? Cheers, Barnaby

Hello, I used the fantastically helpful info in this thread to make a locally-served WAB app that calls an AGOL Web Map (private, shared with organization only) available to internal users WITHOUT the AGOL login. This is great! Thanks to all involved (especially Robert [as usual]). One odd thing. After editing the config.json in my WAB Dev/server/apps/# directory to include the proxy-related info, and then exporting ("download") the app, the edits in that file are not saved. I have to re-edit the downloaded config.json to add the proxy info. Does anyone know why this happens?

Andrew, No, I am unaware of any such scripts. I don't use eSearch, so I have had no need to make an updater script. Cheers, Barnaby

Robert, New version works great. One easy potential enhancement would be to add the words "Add Bookmark" in small type near the data entry box at the top to inform users as to what the box is for. New widget in action: http://cmerwebmap.cr.usgs.gov/usminmap/ Cheers, Barnaby

While a pop-up image on hover sounds intriguing, it may present annoyances if not properly implemented, such as covering up bookmarks visually, making navigating and seeing the bookmarks more time-consuming and problematic. What about a super-mini icon on the bookmark that one could click to see the image? Or have all images display on hover outside of widget area so that the images never cover the text in the bookmarks themselves?

Robert, Yes, if people want thumbnails, I suggest that they use the stock Esri Bookmark widget. Hopefully Esri could implement the feature which TAPAS DAS suggested, When the user adds their own bookmarks, it may be useful to associate a thumbnail of the current map extent with the Bookmark Text. namely adding an option to automatically include a screenshot of the current map view as the thumbnail, which would save the user from having to get their own thumbnail image. Cheers, Barnaby

Robert, I agree with you 100% on all counts. It's not much of a hassle to edit the json code to reorder folders. Here's the widget in operation. It's looking good. http://cmerwebmap.cr.usgs.gov/usminmap/ Thanks, Barnaby

Good job, Robert. Already added to an internal app. Thanks, Barnaby PS: You may want to add a way in the editing GUI to drag-n-drop an existing bookmark folder above or below another one in the list. Or add little up and down arrows for each folder (and even bookmark) along the right side.

Overall, they seem to be doing a fine job. I wish/hope that you would have a direct hotline to them*, avoiding red tape, to communicate WAB issues/ideas to them. *like a Bat Phone Robert in disguise at Calhoun County GIS!

Hopefully ESRI tech support very carefully reads these forums and automatically files away everything into a TODO list. Yeah, right.
