Is this vector OSM with "Flat Tile Set" something I should be concerned about? https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=a637ea6d019d44b4bd33ca1925d635a5 Does it have advantages or disadvantages vs the "regular" tile set?

And in case it comes up: DatumTransformation transform = TransformationCatalog.getTransformation(SpatialReference.create(4326), SpatialReference.create(4326,3855)); returns null.

For whatever dumb reason, Android location altitude is WS84 altitude and not the one which most users expect, which is mean sea level altitude. Can I make the conversion with ArcGIS Runtime? From WGS84 to EGM2008 or something. I thought I was real smart and could figure it out. Geometry vprojected = GeometryEngine.project(currentLocation, SpatialReference.create(4326, 3855)); This looks like what a reasonable person would do to project to Mean Sea Level. The vertical spatialreference is EGM2008. It doesn't crash or give any error messages. The problem: It doesn't change the z value of the point. Not the slightest bit. What do I need to do?

A few times a day, an ArcGIS Runtime app spontaneously dies while not doing much of anything. This error is in logcat. JNI ERROR (app bug): weak global reference table overflow (max=51200) According to my knowledge I have ZERO (0) control over the JNI global reference table. ArcGIS runtime is the only one making JNI calls. What can I do to prevent this? If interested, this is a longer dump. 02-12 14:47:01.807 29469-30370/com.. I got this message from Google Play about this: Android Developers Blog: Get your apps ready for the 64-bit requirement I was unable to tell if the ArcGIS Android Runtime 100.4 is ready for 64 bit. If it's not, apps with the ArcGIS Android Runtime will be kicked out of Google Playstore on August 1, 2019. Given the length of development cycles in the SDK, I hope I have mentioned this in time. I'm guessing these apps will depend on it also. Android Apps by Esri on Google Play

Can you tell me why the editor in this case shows blank for dashes? The path in question obviously has them. This is a consistent problem and troublesome. Is it a bug in the editor? This is what the style itself says. Does that mean the editor can't handle stops in dasharrays? {"source-layer":"path","id":"path/footway (other surface)/line","paint":{"line-color":"#FA8072","line-dasharray":{"stops":[[12,[1,3]],[14,[2,4]],[15,[2,2]]]},"line-width":{"stops":[[12,0.7],[14,1],[15,1.3],[17,1.3],[18,1.6]],"base":1.2}} Most of the dashed lines look pretty stupid in the mobile SDK on a high density phone, which is why I am looking at them.

That answer is insufficient based on the behavior I see now. We are using search widget with 3.2X If I enter 45.4215,-75.6972 it takes me to Ottawa Ontario. If I enter -75.6972,45.4215 it ALSO takes me to Ottawa Ontario. So if someone WANTS to go to the coast of Antartica, they are out of luck, huh? Likewise if I enter "5.1,51.5" it takes me to the same place as if I enter "51.5,5.1" That can't be explained by ESRI wanting coordinates in X,Y order. It looks like you are second guessing the order in which coordinates are entered. Can you explain how it should work?

How are we supposed to remove the onTouchListener when our Activity gets destroyed? There is a setOnTouchlistener but no remove. Setting it to null won't work - you will throw an exception. This is important because you are holding on to the reference and our activity can't be garbage collected, causing a huge memory leak. We have used removeListeners for Scale and NavigationChanged. The only thing I can think of now is to create a DummyonTouchListener that does nothing, and set it in onDestroy. Nathan

I'm wondering what the status is for the OpenStreetMap vector basemap. Should I use it yet? The announcement from July: Over the next couple months, we’ll update the vector basemap regularly with the latest OSM data. We’ll also continue to refine our use of the OSM cartography to improve the map display and performance. Lastly, we’ll make some updates to our apps to take full advantage of the new OSM vector basemap, such as enabling proper display of attribution and style customization. Once we wrap up this beta release (planned for the September update to ArcGIS Online), we’ll integrate the new OSM map into our gallery of vector basemaps so it’s accessible to all ArcGIS apps that use them. So far I see, You did update the vector basemap regularly with the latest OSM data. I see it is now v2. You did refine the use of OSM cartography - you even added footpaths - I care about that. You did update some of the apps - the Vector Style Editor now can do more things. I can't tell if you enabled "proper display of attribution and style customization" The Vector Style editor works off of layer names, like the output of ArcGIS PRO. You can change style of any of the layers that Esri chose, but without knowing attributes (probably stripped out), you can't do the rules based styling that is traditional in the vector style spec. If ESRI changes the layer names, the styles will be broken. I don't know if rules based styling, with published attributes, is in the plan. Its not mandatory for me. But if it is, I imagine it would make any styles I create obsolete. If you change the schema - ie names of layers and sublayers, it would do that anyway. I do not know if you wrapped up the beta release (planned for the September update to ArcGIS Online). In other words, is there a OpenStreetMap_v3 planned? Is it too early to start creating styles based on OpenStreetMap_v3? is it too early to start creating preplanned workflow chunks?

Support helped me and we narrowed it down to a problem with the sample. It had little to do with the mappackage itself. The sample didn't have Internet permission in the manifest so it choked when trying to load the map layer, without any meaningful messages that that was the case. Internet permission is default on 6.0, but it stills need to be in the manifest. I can't believe it was that easy. Nathan

Okay, but if I take out that line, I am no longer mixing layers, am I? I still don't have any example of mixing layers from a mobile map package. Your yellowstone map had this SR: SR= {"wkid":26912,"wkt":"PROJCS[\"NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_12N\",GEOGCS[\"GCS_North_American_1983\",DATUM[\"D_North_American_1983\",SPHEROID[\"GRS_1980\",6378137.0,298.257222101]],PRIMEM[\"Greenwich\",0.0],UNIT[\"Degree\",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION[\"Transverse_Mercator\"],PARAMETER[\"False_Easting\",500000.0],PARAMETER[\"False_Northing\",0.0],PARAMETER[\"Central_Meridian\",-111.0],PARAMETER[\"Scale_Factor\",0.9996],PARAMETER[\"Latitude_Of_Origin\",0.0],UNIT[\"Meter\",1.0]]"} So maybe that's not compatible with the basemap. I then tried one of my own with this SR: SR= {"wkid":102100,"latestWkid":3857,"wkt":"PROJCS[\"WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere\",GEOGCS[\"GCS_WGS_1984\",DATUM[\"D_WGS_1984\",SPHEROID[\"WGS_1984\",6378137.0,298.257223563]],PRIMEM[\"Greenwich\",0.0],UNIT[\"Degree\",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION[\"Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere\"],PARAMETER[\"False_Easting\",0.0],PARAMETER[\"False_Northing\",0.0],PARAMETER[\"Central_Meridian\",0.0],PARAMETER[\"Standard_Parallel_1\",0.0],PARAMETER[\"Auxiliary_Sphere_Type\",0.0],UNIT[\"Meter\",1.0]]"} Seems like that should be compatible with BaseMap Topographic, right? In fact it should be compatible with just about any map layers I plan to use. I tried putting a basemap back in. mMap = new ArcGISMap(Basemap.Type.TOPOGRAPHIC,44.417,-112.08,11); Screen is blank. No grid. Nothing. Back where I started. If it is the spatial reference that's the problem, how do I make an mmpk that will be compatible with standard tiled basemaps? If it is not the spatial reference, then what is the problem?

Confirmed that I still get zero results if I try this on 100.4. Should I file a support ticket on this? If this isn't going to work, I can't keep wasting time on it. I will have to extract the pieces, .geodatabase or whatever, from the .mmpk, and distribute them that way. However silly that is, it seems like the only option.
