Hi, I have a field called 'Forage_Typ' that has the domain attribute linked in its field properties while the other field 'FType' doesn't have attribute domain. I wanted to auto populate the coded value 'code' in 'FType' field based on the value (domain description) entered in 'Forage_Typ'. Is there way I can do by python script in field calculator? I appreciate for any help. Thanks.

I tried and run outside of ArcGIS and it works well. Actually my 3rd table was not correct(made typo). Also, I used the 3rd table for a feature class, it seems like ArcSDESQL doesn't work for spatial column. I got an error of "ArcSDESQLExecute: StreamBindOutputColumn ArcSDE Error -65". I know some of the columns has null values in them. It would be great if I can perform join in Spatial data not just tables and perform query to extract the information. Thank you so much for getting into this Joshua. I appreciated for the help.

Here is the sql that works for two table: import arcpy try: sdeconn = r"Database Connections\SDataGIS.sde" sql = "SELECT * FROM TableLocations JOIN TableMetaData ON TableLocations.LocationID = TableMetaDataDetails.AgriLoggerID WHERE TableMetaDataDetails.AgriLoggerID = 78" conn = arcpy.ArcSDESQLExecute(sdeconn) sqlresult = conn.execute(sql) for i in sqlresult: print i except Exception as err: print err # when I brought the 3rd table and run this query, it works.

Joshua- There is no spatial columns in any of those tables. It doesn't throw error when join and query two tables.

I tried to join the three tables and select the records from the table in one of our arcsde database using python scripts, however I got a traceback error indicating "ArcSDESQLExecute: StreamPrepareSQL ArcSDE Error -37 ". I don't have any clue how to fix this error. Interestingly, when I join the two tables and run the query, it works well. Here is the snippet that gives error when run the query for three tables: import arcpy try: sdeconn = r"Database Connections\Database.sde" sql = "SELECT * \ FROM Table1 \ JOIN Table2 \ ON Table2.column1 = Table1.column2 \ JOIN Table3 \ ON Table3.column3 = Table1.column2 \ WHERE AgriLogger_Table1.column 2 = 3" cnn = arcpy.ArcSDESQLExecute(sdeconn) sqlresult = cnn.execute(sql) for i in sqlresult: print i except Exception as err: print unicode(err.message).encode("utf-8") print err

Hi, I have created a javascript webmap that has editing functionality. I want user to edit/create new features on-screen but meanwhile set up and keep default topology correction on the client. Is there way I can integrate topology correction/validation while user completes the editing feature? for eg. If I create a new property boundary that accidentally draw on the other property boundary, then it should auto snap with the vertices or line of the other property boundary- keeping the topology rule (that polygons must not overlapped) while editing mode. Any samples or templates or link associated with this is highly appreciated. Thank you

Dan, the data is tab delimited, the script works when you insert commas between columns. I was thinking if there is solution that directly read and write tab delimited data or like this type. Thanks

Hi I have a gps text file that has coordinates with other variables. I need to parse the file in order to get Lat, Long and Altitude values from the file and write it into new text file or csv. I tried to read the lines but I got error like this: Here is my code: # This script reads a GPS data and prints a list of coordinate pairs import csv # Set up input gpsdata = open("C:/testdata/telemetry2.txt", "r") # Set and process CSV reader csvReader = csv.reader(gpsdata) header = csvReader.next() latvalueIndex = header.index("lat") lonvalueIndex = header.index("long") altvalueIndex = header.index("alt") # Make an empty list coordList = [] # Loop through the lines in the file and get each coordinate for row in csvReader: lat = row[latvalueIndex] lon = row[lonvalueIndex] alt = row[altvalueIndex] coordList.append([lat,lon,alt]) # Print the coordinate list print coordList I have also attached the data sample. I will appreciate for any help to get this fixed. Thanks

Tracy, you are right! I am glad that works now. Thank you so much for the help. Appreciated! var PropertyString = value.attributes.PropertyName; var formatString = "<b>Property Name:</b> " + PropertyString var sqft = geometryEngine.geodesicArea(value.geometry, "square-feet"); var squarefeet = number.format(sqft, { places: 1 }); var acres = number.format(sqft / 43560, { places: 0 }); formatString += "<br><b>Acres:</b> " + acres; return formatString;

Tracy, Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, it didn't work. It returns all the field string except the calculation. I think that calculation didn't executed when we call the function. Please check here; var template = new esri.InfoTemplate(); template.setTitle("<b>Cooperator: </b> ${Cooperator}"); template.setContent; function setContent(value){ var formatString = "<b>Property Name: </b> + value.attributes.PropertyName + <br/>"; var sqft = geometryEngine.geodesicArea(value.geometry, "square-feet"); var squarefeet = number.format(sqft, { places: 1 }); var acres = number.format(sqft / 43560, { places: 0 }); formatString += "acres: " + acres; return formatString; }
