Some questions to better help the GeoNet community provide answers for you: What GIS software are you using for geocoding? ArcGIS? ArcGISPro? ArcGIS Online? Another? What version? Does your organization use the Local Government Information Model (LGIM)? Also, let me tag a specific addressing troublemaker expert jborgion . If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend looking at both the Geocoding process and your address data to get a feel for how it all fits together. In particular, pay attention to how the data is broken out into fields in your data. Check the Help of the Version of the software you have. I saw this in the documentation, which may resolve part of the puzzle. As for the rest, though....not sure. What datum and ellipsoid do you use to map the data? Panorama uses a sphere of diameter 6370718 meters to approximate the Earth's surface. This is used as the datum baseline for all mapped processing. A suggestion - I'm not sure given your data, but it may be that you could use the Location-Allocation (Network Analyst) process for this instead of using the 15 minute polygons that were already developed. However, I believe it requires point locations of potential store locations ("Facilities") besides the locations you want to serve ("Demand Points"), so that could derail things if that information is not available. If one doesn't have an Advanced License to use the Eliminate Polygon Part geoprocessing tool, there is a workflow posted on Stack Exchange that looks like it would work: 1. Use Union (Analysis) on the layer, being sure to uncheck the checkbox for "Gaps allowed (optional)". This will cause new polygons to be created wherever there are gaps. 2. Run Dissolve (Analysis) on the output of the Union to combine all the polygons. I was guessing the analysis question was more along the lines of finding a central depot for a supply business. The points represent the several supply business locations, then the original poster wants to find the best location on the road network that would most effectively service all those supply business locations for a Central Depot/Warehouse. One immediate thought would be to check the projection/coordinate system of the Data Frame versus the Quads. When I've made fieldmaps in the past that required a UTM grid overlaid on Quad maps, I've found that changing the Data Frame projection/coordinate system to match that of the Quads often resolves misalignment issues with the UTM lines and the UTM indexes shown on the Quad. However, I will say from practical experience that there always seems to be one or two quads in a map set where things are off a bit. The only conclusion that my colleagues and I could come up with at the time was the ones that were off were not scanned in precisely by the organization we received them from. Chris Donohue, GISP

I'm not sure I understand the relevance of the polygons you've already created in relation to the stated goal of finding a central point that minimizes the drive time to each point using the network. To continue the discussion: One element I see as a potential drawback in W3W is the lack of predictable arrangement as one moves from one area to another. For example, with a traditional street address system one can get a sense of where things are because their is a predictable arrangement. If someone says they are at 2000 J Street and need to go to 2400 J Street, their already is a known directionality to work with. Just looking at the addresses posted on the street, an observer can see the progression. Plus in some places, the cross-street correlates with the address. So if someone said to meet them at 2000 J Street in Sacramento, California, a local person would know that the meeting is at the corner of 20th Street and J Street, as that area has gridded streets where the addressing correlates with the street grid. My point here being a person can see the progression and find things intuitively, without having to pull out a technology device. In contrast if someone says they are at tone.season.detail and wants to go to ozone.remote.earth (which are the W3W equivalents to 2000 J Street and 2400 J Street), without technology and the W3W system, you will be hard-put to figure out where to go intuitively. As one moves from 2000 J Street to 2400 J Street, the W3W addresses progression is tend.zips.this, sits.moment.than, factories.washed.cities, proper.even.hogs. Their is no predictable order, so one cannot even figure out if they are going the correct way on J Street towards their destination. Figuring out where to go will require technology. If you want to retain the current symbology used in the layer file when making the image, here's an option that will work: Display just the layer file in ArcMap in Data View. From the main menu at the top, File, Export Map. In the "Export Map Window that shows up (see below), be sure to open up the Options (click on small triangle). Look at the various settings and decide which to use. If you want the image to line up with other data, be sure to check the "Write World File" checkbox. Note - one drawback of this method is that the background color will be retained instead of becoming "No Data". Alternatively, if you want an image of the layer file but are not concerned about how it looks, another option is to use the various Conversion Toolbox tools: Polygon to Raster, Polyline to Raster, and Point to Raster. However, these require either Spatial Analyst or 3D Analyst extensions, or an Advanced ArcGIS license. This is a more elegant solution, but the current symbology will be lost. Chris Donohue, GISP
