Hello Amanda and Kellie Yes, for the most part, most items have a url in their description definitions so everything would need to be updated to https. However, the following link may be very helpful for updating layers Updating web map layers to use HTTPS In AGOL, go to a web map's item page -> Settings -> Layer Settings and there is the option there to Update Layers to HTTPS. This button updates the layers\feature services within the web map from http to https. I would be interested to know how this results for you Regards Ed

Hello Katie The URLs in ArcGIS Online apps will not automatically update, you will need to manually update them from http to https. One method to update the urls (and worth trying and testing) is to use ArcGIS Online Assistant. Here, you can edit the JSON of each web map stored in your ArcGIS Online site. Each web map's configuration is stored in a JSON string so by editing the JSON you can manipulate the web map outside of ArcGIS Online user interface. Make sure you back up all the JSON files\text before making any changes and take extra care when modifying the code. ArcGIS Online Assistant - https://ago-assistant.esri.com/ Hope this helps Cheers Ed

Hello Arthur Thanks for clarifying, I now understand what you mean. Unfortunately, I am not aware of this option being available for ArcGIS Dashboards ( out of the box or customized). The only options would be within the web map itself - removing the layers completely or changing the symbology to be null ( so its not visible on the map but maybe without a layer list). Look forward to other people's ideas on this Ed

Hey Ronald This is a good question and unfortunately, I not certain you can. However, one alternative method that might work for you is to incrementally update your source data instead of the service itself? https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000015842 Cheers Ed

Hello Jim I’m going to make an assumption that by "dropping the datastore", you mean stop the Data Store service (without starting again) or shutdown the virtual machine that hosts it. If this is the case, then any web maps or web apps that rely on hosted services will have errors when trying to load those layers. However, by restarting the Data Store service or virtual machine, the hosted services should return and continue to function. If you mean to unregister the data store, then you will lose those hosted services. The way to get around this would be to use the data store command line utilities tools to back up and then restore it. https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/data-store-recovery.htm Another option, which is perhaps easier, is to take a snapshot of the VM before you blow it away and then you can restore it. Cheers Ed

Hello Arthur The Layer List widget only allows you to turn on or turn off visibility of layers. When you say "I'd like to make a couple administrative boundary layers as read-only", do you mean that you do not want the administrative boundary layers ( features\attributes) to be editable? Thanks Ed

Hello Ori For point 1 - Changing the transparency is not an option for reference layers in Power BI. The reason it adds transparency for polygon layers is to allow visibility of other context layers such as the basemap. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/maps-for-powerbi/design/work-with-layers.htm Point 2 - Adding multiple reference layers can be done in Power BI 2020.1 release https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/maps-power-bi/mapping/arcgis-maps-for-microsoft-power-bi-march-2020-1-release/#:~:text=Add%20multiple%20reference%20layers%20to,store%20locations%20in%20Power%20BI. Hello Jason Yes, you can add points to the map using the REST endpoint. See the following link: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/add-features.htm Bear in mind that you will have to deal with authentication to get a token before you can access a secured service endpoint: https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/users-groups-and-items/authentication.htm https://developers.arcgis.com/documentation/core-concepts/security-and-authentication/accessing-arcgis-online-services/” Hope this helps, Ed

Hello Patrick Using the allowconnection tool does work. I did find though that each time the Data Store service was restarted, I had to re-add the new host IP and user. It became a bit cumbersome ( plus this is not usual behavior). For me, the problem no longer exists. The ArcGIS Server machine names were set up to use dns names rather than the internal machine name in ArcGIS Server Administration. This rename setting won't retain because when the ArcGIS Server service is stop\started or the server machine itself is restarted, the name will always be set to the internal machine name set as the OS level of the server. We changed the names back to their internal machine names in ArcGIS Administrator Directory, unfederated Portal\ArcGIS Server, re-federated Portal\ArcGIS Server and then re-registered the managed database Data Store with ArcGIS Server ( using the unregisterdatastore and registerdatastore utility tools in command line on the data store machines). Validated the data stores in ArcGIS Server Manager and everything resulted as expected. No error message in the log files either. Ive been monitoring this for 2 weeks now and I no longer receive the error and publishing of hosted services is resulting in data stored in ArcGIS DataStore. Cheers Ed

Hi everyone I just wanted to add some further information on this message I recently experienced the same message "the service is owned by another user. The sharing properties can only be shared by the owner" but within ArcGIS Server Manager's sharing properties. I have a High Availability, active\active environment in 10.7.1 - 1 portal site with a primary and standby machine. The Portal site is federated to ArcGIS GIS Server site with two machines We found that this error was introduced each time I renamed one or both AGS machines from fully qualified domain name to dns name. Enterprise is designed to communicate within itself using fully qualified domain names so anything different, such as a dns machine name) throws a 401 error in the web browser when ArcGIS Server machine is trying to access Portal site. Thanks Ed

Hello Did you find a solution to this? I am experience similar issue but with 10.7.1. Before federation, access to GIS Server via ArcMap or web browser was perfect. After Federation, i receive a timeout errror in ArcMap when trying to connect ( Add a GIS Server in Catalog) and also "timeout exceeded" error in web browser when trying to access Manager. All from within the one virtual machine Ed

Hello Laurence I am experiencing the same FATAL error but after Federation and i can ressolve it. However i have some "under the bonnet" questions i am hoping someone at Esri could asisst with? I have ArcGIS Server ( one site joined to two virtual machines joined, active\active high availability) and the site has one registered relational (managed) data store, residing on a third virtual machine. In addition, the ArcGIS Server is federated to Portal. Data Store, ArcGIS Server and Portal have the same CA root certificate and intermediate certificate assigned as trusted. One domain service account with full control permissions has been setup across all virtual machines and Portal and GIS Server rest end points are reachable from within each of these machines. I unfederated ArcGIS Server from Portal and validated the data stores in AGS Manager and the data stores validated fine (green tick box, no fatal log errors). When i federate ArcGIS Server to Portal again and then re-validate the data stores in AGS Manager, i get a similar fatal error as Joel Type=warning, code =”110787” source “Data Store” process = “21232” thread = “1” methodName = “” machine “<machine name>.<domain>” user= “” elapse = “” requestID = “” > Failed to create index on ‘{0}’ org.postgres.util.PSQLException: FATAL : no pg_hba.config entry for host “XXX.X.X.1”, user “hsu_XaXaX”, database “db_AbAbA”, SSL off </msge> I can run the allowconnection.bat and the fatal error no longer is logged and the data stores are validated ( green tick box) in AGS Manager and the data store log files are all ok. I repeate the above again. The second time, the fatal error had a different host, user and database parameters I would like to understand a) when does the connection to the managed\relational database get set? I thougth it was at the initial data store configuration? Do we have to manually set data connections to an existing data store after Federation? b) By what script\mechanism\process is the different IPs, users and database parameters being created? c) can these IPs, users and database parameters be static\never change? d) is this accepted\designed behaviour by Enterprise? Any help and insight is greatly appreciated Thanks Ed
