Hi, Just poking this issue. I would like to know whether anyone has tried classifying a raster by specifying percentage area by class. This would be similar to histogram equalization but, more accurately, histogram shaping where the central class would have the largest area and the classes either side taper off to a minimum? Thanks!

Since you upgraded ArcMap, this might be a good time to uninstall ArcHydro and reinstall with a version of ArcHydro that is compatible with 10.6.1. Else, email arc hydro <archydro@esri.com>. Incidentally, is the input raster float or integer? If float, try integer; if integer, try float... G

Bob, I noticed an error in my message. The raster should indeed be ESRI grid format but not in a geodatabase, it should be in a normal windows folder. Does that make a difference? Garret

Hello Robert, I have seen that error before, I fixed it by following: Switch Background Geoprocessing off; Ensure input raster is ESRI GRID format and geodatabase raster; Ensure data projection is specified with x and y in metres and z in metres or scaled metres. Presently, I am also having issues with ArcHydro so I sympathise. Garret

Hi all, I am having difficulty running Evaluate Depressions on a 1600x2500 grid in 32-bit integer centimetres. I have also tried 16-bit but it still hangs at the same point (Computing drainage area for depressions...). It runs fine on floating point grid but it is slow (4 hours) so I was hoping that it would be faster for integer grids. I would like to know: If anyone has successfully Evaluated Depressions on an integer grid of such a size? Has anyone noticed significant performance improvement on integer grids compared to floating point? Thanks! Garret

I am trying to extract depressions from a DEM (1600 x 2400 pixels). The following workflow works, but only using the float raster as input: 1. Project to UTM; resample (cubic); specify vertical coordinate system; 2. Run Depression evaluation 3. Done. For a Float Raster, the run-time is 4 hours. To speed this up, I am trying to use integer raster as input. I then rescale the pixel values to integer centimetres and define the vertical coordinate system accordingly with the appropriate scale factor but when using this as input, the procedure only completes for a small part of the raster, when I set the extent to the full raster, it hangs at the "Computing drainage area for depressions..." (RasterToPolygon) step. Note that the raster is 32 bit signed, if that makes any difference. I don't think 16 bit unsigned will have the range I need. I've also nullified zero pixels that appear around the edges after projecting the data to UTM from Geographic but no use. I am not sure what is going on and would be grateful for some advice. Thanks!

Hi, In my job we routinely open a table with the same fields, etc. To process the table, the first step we do is execute a multi field sort on 4 fields. We also have to hide certain fields. It would greatly help if I could specify a macro or similar (even better if it could be attached to a toolbar button) that would execute this sort (optionally the hiding the field also). Is something like this possible? Table view doesn't really help. We use ArcGIS Desktop. Thanks!

I also had encountered this problem. Didn't realise that my compressing the geodatabase made it read-only... a problem of my own making... 😞

I also experienced this Error Code 000539 and fixed it by ensuring that all input rasters were in the same projection.

This was helpful. I was also able to run the process, but only in the foreground. I will continue to run in foreground until a fix is made. Garret

Hi, I need to reclassify/slice a raster by Specified Area. The functionality seems to be in the Slice function but, only Equal Area. For 5 classes, Equal Area forces the area for each class to be 20% but it would be great if I could specify the area for each class, e.g. 11%, 22%, 33%, 22%, 11%. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

Hi Christine, I think I am using the 64 bit version from the 10.5.0.90 folder. The input data is a stand-alone GRID. The operation works fine from the Terrain Preprocessing Menu. I think it might have found what was causing the issue. I had made the pie charts transparent. When I removed the transparency, it rendered fine and at high resolution. Then I applied transparency in Illustrator.

I am also having this issue, even exporting to PNG and TIFF. However, if I drop the dpi to 96, the resulting export looks like it should albeit with poor resolution. As soon as I increase the dpi, the pie charts start dropping out and don't render. G
