Hi,

I need to reclassify/slice a raster by Specified Area. The functionality seems to be in the Slice function but, only Equal Area.

For 5 classes, Equal Area forces the area for each class to be 20% but it would be great if I could specify the area for each class, e.g.  11%, 22%, 33%, 22%, 11%. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

Hi,

Just poking this issue.  I would like to know whether anyone has tried classifying a raster by specifying percentage area by class. This would be similar to histogram equalization but, more accurately, histogram shaping where the central class would have the largest area and the classes either side taper off to a minimum?

Thanks!

Hi GarretDuffy!

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm looking to do the same thing where I can specify number of cells for each group.

Thanks!

Unfortunately not, I think it would/should be a useful feature, together with histogram equalization.
