Hi, well, if you start on a polygon with 5 sides it's already difficult. 🙂 there's no specific way to convert the resulting to quads, but you can export triangulated, then quadrangulate e.g. in Maya or so. but if you work consistently, it should be possible to do what you need. ok ? matt

Hi, Got a feedback on this : One of our developers just tried it and it seems to work as described in the blog post: http://bit.ly/MgcSin But he says it's not a good thing to embed multiple WebScenes in one story map because every time the user clicks next one has to load a new 3ws. So we'd not recommend to do this. The issue seems to be in the story map itself .. And an other input: If you really want to do this??? add "&reducedUI" to the end of the webscene url so that the right panel doesn???t clutter the small view. ok ? Matt

Hi Bos, I'm not sure what you mean .. Do you need resulting meshes that are pure quads only in the end ? Let me know .. Matt

Hi, there will be a javascript API. but this is still in development. actually, multiple things had to be combined, so also the API needed to be expanded to support more than just the WebViewer. sorry, but I cannot share more.. it takes more time. Matt

Hi, we've fixed some issues in the kml importer that cause issues in CE2013. The fix will be available with CityEngine 2014. ( Not too distant future 🙂 ) I can test your file, send me a PM. Ok ? Matt

Hi Kevin, sorry for the late reply, I missed this thread. 😞 1] The first edge defines 'scope front' to CGA. On a start shape, scope.sx is always parallel to the first edge. 2] Static Shapes show the first edge with an orange line. Dynamic shapes do not show that organge line, but they of course also have one ( see 3] ). The reason why the line is hidden is that the first edge is well-defined in a block and cannot be changed manually ( unless you convert to static shapes ). 3] definition of the first edge in dynamic shapes: prio 1 : the WIDEST street a shape touches drives the first edge prio 2 : if 2 streets ( corner lot ) are equally wide, the longest street edge drives the first edge prio 3: if both edges are equally long, the default is used ( basically random ) LotInner : equal to prio 3. So to change 'front and back stuff' once the first edge is defined is done via CGA. Ok ? Matt

Hi ! Try nailing the issue down.. First, export layer by layer ( not all layers at same time ) Usually you can isolate the issue on one layer, then continue to find a single shape or something similar.. Just dig deeper a bit .. Let me know what you find .. ( I need more info to be able to help .. ) Matt
