@JoyStraley The free account that you have with ArcGIS Online will not work with the Collector app. It will work with the ArcGIS for iOS/Android/WP apps. The only way to set up your account to become an Admin/Publisher/User is to start up a ArcGIS Online Subscription. This 60 min seminar can help you out with understanding what the ArcGIS Online subscriptions are: http://training.esri.com/gateway/index.cfm?fa=catalog.webCourseDetail&courseid=2498 @btecinic Once you buy full ArcGIS Online subscription or start up a trial subscription you will receive an email that will let you activate the subscription. I would also recommend checking out the ArcGIS Online forums and posting your questions for subscription start up and setup there. Hope this helps you out. Russ

Hey Mike, The Collector app can only be accessed by users within a AGOL Organization and Portal account. I just set up a test trial account and I was able to login with that account once my organization was set up. Make sure your global account you are using is now a user, publisher or admin within the trial org you have set up. Cheers Russ

The current version in the app store and play store today supports editing and collecting on a point feature service. The next release will have support for lines and polygons. The features are synced back with your ArcGIS Server feature service or Hosted feature service. We are working on an disconnected solution which will be in a future release but the next update will have tablet support, lines and polygon support and a few other enhancements. Cheers Russ

The ArcGIS for .. apps and Collector apps are displaying the order on set on the REST endpoint under the types section of the rest endpoint. If you can send me a link to your REST endpoint could I check it out? Thanks Russ

Currently the Collector apps will be supporting AGOL subscription accounts or Portal for ArcGIS accounts. Portal for ArcGIS would be your internal solution. Here is some info on Portal for ArcGIS : http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/portal-for-arcgis Cheers Russ

That is currently not supported in the app today. I would recommend adding this to ideas.arcgis.com and adding your requirements and use cases. Thanks Russ

You need to be able to connect to your org within ArcMap and from there you can share a service with data coming from a file geodatabase and have it hosted up to AGO. Or you can take a service definition file and upload that to AGO to generate a service. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/#/Publishing_a_hosted_feature_service_to_to_ArcGIS_Online_using_an_ArcMap_document/01w100000057000000/ Cheers Russ

Are you using a ArcGIS Subscription hosted feature service or ArcGIS Server feature service? from there we can walkthrough your issues and see what is going on. If you can share your map with me I wouldn't mind taking a look at it. Thanks Russ

You can go into your "My Content" add a csv or shapefile through Add Item and check off "publish as feature service" once the service is created you can go to the item page for that service(this is created after the service has been published) and then you can click on edit and adjust the capabilities for that service (Add/Update/Delete, Editor Tracking & Ownership Controls). The ArcGIS Online help doc can help you with the finer points for creating a service and this recent blog post can point you to some great training solutions: http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2013/05/30/arcgis-online-training-options/ Cheers Russ

Just a couple of questions and I can help you out. Are you using a point feature service that is editable in the web map? Are you saving it to your AGO Subscription account and logging into the Collector with that account? Thanks! Russ

Yup. You just need to publish the hosted service using ArcMap with a feature class in a geodatabase and you will be set. Cheers Russ

When you create the feature service use a feature class in a geodatabase and leverage subtypes & domains. This will help you create a data model that can auto-populate and have values presented to the user and not require anything to be typed into fields. Cheers Russ

The editor tracking fields will populate the collector out in the field and time it was collected. I went to the REST endpoint for my tracking layer and did a simple query. The attached photo will show all the information that gets collected by default in the tracking layer. I will check with the dashboard team and see if there are any possible solutions to show the most recent tracking point and update this thread. Cheers Russ
