Interesting, if you don't mind sharing what is your computer set up? I have seen the opposite with my computer, it would be good to know, so that anyone else who maybe thinking about jumping to Pro, may need to do a computer upgrade. Here are my computer's credentials: Windows 7 Professional Intel Core i7-6700 CPU@ 3.4GHz 16 GB RAM (15.9 GB usable) 64 bit- Operating System 238 GB HD (I believe this is limited because we have moved to Solid State Drives, and this is the give/take area I wish I had at least a 500 GB HD) I do have 2 external drives to place all of my projects on when working on the computer locally. Thank you. Chad

Thank you Jay for adding the information about the publishing of map services, I will be moving in that direction later this Spring into the Summer. Were there any specific issues that you ran into while setting up the services? Thank you once again.

Kory, this is what I was looking for, I did not know this was available in the catalog in Pro, but Thomas brings up a good point. Can I preview all layers in an existing map document from ArcGIS desktop in pro? If not, having the ability to drag and drop layers from my existing map document into a pro map would be great, because once I have created a new project, generally I do not want to open another existing map document into that project. I know that I do not want to import the project just to drag out the layers I need and delete the rest.

Thank you Steve for your list, this is why I started this thread, for the good and the bad, a place where they both can be mentioned. Items are able to be made better when the bad is discussed.

Thank you Dan for your response I use much of the functionality that you listed as well. I would be good to see those items that we use on a regular bases added to pro. Good luck.

Kory, this would be great for my current project (creating an Aquifer Vulnerability model for Nitrate using the EPA DRASTIC method), each layer needs to be weighted and I am using 7 to 9 layers in this model. Thank you.

Thank you John, like I said to Dan, I appreciate your response. We need to know the issues that people have run into, please give other issues as you run into them. This is helpful to all of us just starting with pro. I am going to swim upstream as well. I feel the same way. One issue that I am currently running into is unselecting the swipe tool once I have finished using it. Not a deal breaker, but a simple frustration.

Thank you Dan for your response, this is why I started this discussion. I am just starting to use ArcGIS Pro, and I like the functionality that I have used so far, but I have a limited view of the program. Please list those functions that you use that are missing. I agree with you, I don't want to see ArcMap go away any time soon, at least not until I am confident that Pro will do and perform the way that I need it to in order to do my job.

Here is a little glitch that I have seen with my project, when I auto hide my table of contents I have this strip, in place of the contents when it closes. I see this when I start to browse in the view. It goes away once I click on on the Project tab and save, but as soon as I browse it is there again.

Thank you for your response Mark, this is why I started this discussion. I am just starting to use Pro. I think that having a background in both Pro and ArcMap is a good thing. When they get in the work force, they may have technology limitations that are different, so knowing how to move between the 2 packages is would be a benefit.

Please consider adding the ability to drag and drop layers from the desktop ArcCatalog into an ArcGIS Pro project. There are many good features in the desktop ArcCatalog, namely the ability to preview a layer before adding it to your map. It would be nice if the Catalog in pro could preview or have the ability to drag and drop the layer from the desktop ArcCatalog into your pro project. Thank you.
