I just discovered thht my Location in the Identify dialog box had the wrong UTM. It says it is 13S but I am working on 13N because all of my data are suppose to be in NAD 1983 UTM Zone 13 N. Why does it show up as 13S instead of 13N ??? How do I fix the problem ? Thanks

I have a question for you and what is the best practice for me to copy the legend from another ArcMap A to ArcMap B. They are in the Layout View. it has different scale like in 1: 70,000 to 1:55, 000 without having to adjust the legend ? So here is the example of what I am talking about here: ArcMap A (36x36 ) Layout View ArcMap B ( 36x44) Layout View Scale : 1: 70,000 -----------------> Scale : 1:55, 000 So the legend from the 70,000 seem to be bigger than the 55,000 and when I resize it to meet the same as the 55,,00 it seems that the symbol gets smaller and the symbol changes. I had to fix it and try to resize the symbols however it is not what I wanted. What is the method or a way around to fix this ? P.S. ( As of 28 MARCH 2018) I found out that when I copy and paste with different scale BUT the paper size is different... So when I copy from ArcMap A and paste to ArcMap B... The paper size is different ... Because when you copy , the legend becomes smaller and hard to read, is there a solution to make this fix ? Has anyone ever done like this in the past and if so what is the solution to it ?

BINGO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Earlier I post what I was trying to ask about an issue I came across so.... This is NOT what I wanted : I finally figure it. So this is WHAT I want this way : Here is how to do this.... Open it up the properties and set the Angle to very very low like 0.1 . So it doesn't look like it is rotate a lot ... just my one cent simple. P.S. I revised a bit here..... If you have a way around similiar what I was doing please share with me Thanks !

I am trying to get my pointer to modify from the box that says You are Here. What I wanted to move the call out on the top of the box and point to the start It looks like this If I move the box to a bit to the left because it is in the way for words "Rainbow Fails" . I need to show that words . If I move it a bit to the left the pointer will change to like this I do not want the pointers on the right side of the box.. I want it to keep at the top ? How do I make it this work ? The reason I want to make it to the top to stay out of the words tand the roads that need to be shown... Thanks I am using 10.3.1 in Citrix at that moment .

Aww. I see. I am thinking that when the flight flew up in the air and the camera took pictures below and snapshot of each photo to denote that photo ? Correct ..

Overview of the Photo Index over the Pike and San Isabel National Forest ( See red hatch with red outline ). The points here you see is black dot color. Zoom in smaller area and show you the attribute table.. Does not say Latitude and Longitude but How in the world did they put the point with the UTM reference ?? Here you go... and tell me i can go and find out more information.. This shapefile we have came from a contractor who does the scanning the aerial photos. Now I select a point and use the identify tool to show me the information about that point.. Thoughts how did they do that ?

Give me a minute and I am going to post this point shapefile... BTW, how do I add the zip file for this point shapefile so you all can see what it is.. It shows you the point in a UTM NAD 1983 in ArcMap but it lacks the attribute table..

Thank you. Is there an example that can I read more about this out there on the internet like an example of what a photo index looks like etc ? I do believe they were taught in Remote Sensing course or Image Processing course , correct ?

This is all new to me about learning how to use Aerial Photos. I have a very old ones that that are dated back to 1938 and I am having a really hard time to identify features there. I have them that are scanned at scale of 20,000. They are most on the mountainous areas and it lacks the features that I could find them. My question to you what is Photo Index shapefile I have here? They are point shapefile that shows the flight that took them. How can I use it ? I plan on to using to orthorectify them through ERDAS 2016 Imagine AutoSync.. I believe I have them about at least 3,000 all over my forest here. I am not really familiar about them very much but I have google it around online and found some good information. https://www.asprs.org/a/publications/proceedings/Sacramento2012/files/Ma.pdf http://depts.washington.edu/pnwcesu/reports/J8W07110015_Final_Report.pdf Do you have a website that discuss about them or some examples that may be helpful to me or can I look at them?

Yes I did copy them to my Seagate Expansion Drive which is an external hard drive from the C Drive...what I did was to copy my user name from there to the external hard drive. I copied the normal.mxt from this to the Windows 10 in the users folder... Didn't work.. I also looked at the folder inside the Users and found that when I installed ArcGIS 10.3.1 I can see that C:\Users\rmpollock\AppData\Roaming\Esri ... <-------- See the word Esri had mixed Upper Capital E and sri small letters. So I went back to the External hard drive and check it again and found this: E:\rmpollock\AppData\Roaming\ESRI <------see the word ESRI is all Upper Capitals ... I deleted it and copied it again and still not work..... so maybe it got corrupt from the first time .... Don't know...

Hello, Last Monday I had to make a lot of backup for my work and Windows 7 files such as my username and so on to my external hard drive . So when my computer was being to migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I had to re-install a lot of ArcGIS 10, Trimble Pathfinder Office, ERDAS 2016 softwares and many more...back to my C drive ..... My simple question for you is that when I re-install my ArcGIS 10.3.1 to my computer and launch ArcMap,, the only thing that came my mind was "How do I restore my existing maps or mxd files" that I had before Windows 10. I tried to copy my normal.mxt from the backup to where it should be in the users' temeplates . It did not show up...I was wonder if it is possible for me to restore them ? Thanks for you feedback
