It looks as though your parcel layer gets duplicated on the print as there are two sets of outlines showing. Is that layer in your service multiple times? I'm seeing a similar issue here (in 3.6, but wasn't there in 3.0) where the labels that are drawn with my parcels layer are getting duplicated on the print. I have that one layer in my service multiple times however (in order to allow users to turn on different labels) and I was thinking that may contribute to the issue. If you do or do not have that layer there multiple times it may help to narrow down the issue. It sure looks like a bug though.

Here is my ConfigManager.as for 3.6. Replace the one in the source and compile and you'll be all set. I also made the changes to the index.html found in the links above. With these two adjustments all changes are seen immediately on page reload.

It is quite frustrating that this is an issue, and the only fix I know of involves making some changes to the flexviewer source. To me this is a huge issue so I had to learn how to do this. See these threads to get you started: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/16664-Preventing-client-side-caching-of-the-Flex-Viewer http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/57121-browser-cache This time around, for 3.6, I had to compare the Configmanager.as to the edited one found in that thread and edit accordingly. It's a big PITA so hopefully something like this will get worked into a future version!

I had to use the "print using system dialog". I suppose changing the default to landscape prior to printing each time would work but that isn't something an end user would think to do.

Robert, This is more of an FYI for the future, as I'm sure this certainly isn't much of a priority since it's a browser-related issue. I found that when using the datagrid print function (glad this was added btw, quite helpful) in Chrome, it seems to not cooperate when switching to landscape. The data shown in the datagrid in my app extends more than the width of a portrait 8.5x11 and therfore creates a 2nd page. If I change the print settings to landscape, all it does it rotate the data to match. I found no way for this to print "correctly" in Chrome. However, in IE it works great.

Do you notice any issues with haphazard duplication (or more) of feature labels when printing? It appears fine in the app but the created print has features that are labeled multiple times.

After further review, it would appear that the simplefillsymbol DOES appear on the print, but the simplelinesymbol does NOT. That would be for polygons. Regardless, using the fill symbol, with outline only, works just fine so I suppose it doesn't matter. However, I'm still getting duplicated, or more, labels but I suppose this applies to the print widgets and not the eSearch.

I do mean the eSearch. But in conjunction with the print widgets. Are you saying that when you print, with something selected via eSearch, that the selection appears on the print? If so, any idea why it would not for me. I read through all of the documentation for eSearch but I suppose I could have missed a config setting? I mentioned the PrintSOE to say that the issue appears in both print widgets, so as to rule out something specific to them. thanks

I agree with Sol, but sometimes I also use yellow for my text on imagery as it seems to be the most visible. I haven't played with font changes much though.

Robert, When using the OOTB print widget, or the PCHPrintSOE, the selection graphic is not showing up on the print at all for me. At 3.0 it showed but covered up the underlying annotation. In 3.6, besides it not showing, any annotation I have displayed shows up duplicated in the print. Somewhat related...any graphics (draw or measure widgets) shown on the map do not show up on the printSOE. They do show on the OOTB widget however. Is this something on my end or is this the case for everyone?

The use of alpha would certainly be nice but I'm glad that there is at least the line option. I'll await news of eSearch for 3.6 and update my application at that time. thanks for the confimation

I read the following line in the release of 3.6: "Query and Search widgets now have support for line symbology on polygon features. Search widget now supports setting symbology per layer???s results." Does this mean that when a polygon is selected, it can show a line graphic instead of a polygon graphic? If so, this would solve the issue where the selection graphics (despite being transparent) cover up annotation below it when printing. (though this may be a fault in the Advanced Print SOE widget - I'm not sure if this happens in the relatively new built-in print widget as I haven't tried it out yet) Robert, will this be implemented in your eSearch? It might be time for me to update from 3.0!

I have a model I've been using regularly for quite some time. It seems rather random that I get a schema lock error when it's running...until today when I ran it 10x to no avail. Simply, the model takes a shapefile, edits it, copies to a file geodatabase as a copy, then a python script stops my AGS, deletes the former feature class, renames the copy, repeats the copy/rename for a duplicate file geodatabase that is not used by AGS, then restarts AGS via a python script. This had all worked in the past. I did have some issues with the script not stopping the server service and causing a schema lock on the geodatabase on the server but that was taken care of. I'm now getting the schema lock on the duplicate that is on another machine entirely. Everything works up until it should delete the existing feature class, and that's when i get the schema lock error. I tried: running the model in ArcMap, while no data is loaded restarting ArcMap to ensure no lock Closing ArcMap and using ArcCatalog instead restarted my machine I assure you that there is no one accessing the data, including me, other than this model. I've scoured the internet and it seems everyone's answer is that someone else is editing it. Not possible. I have also opened the gdb in windows explorer and watched for the lock file. It isn't there when I begin the model and it appears that one is created at some point during the model itself and then it doesn't release it and it won't allow me to delete the file. I am able to access/edit/delete these same files afterwards by hand using ArcCatalog despite that lock file still being in the gdb. Apparently it's just the model that can't. What I don't understand is that the lock should be there to prevent other users from editing the data at the same time, but I am the only user. Is it maybe acting like the model is a different person somehow? Another thing of note is that we did just replace the server where this file exists. (server 2013) I checked the permissions on the folder location and the gdb itself and domain users (me included) have full rights. It's been quite a frustrating day dealing with this as the model is quite important and takes a good 30 minutes to run so it's slow going in the troubleshooting. Any ideas? thanks!

It turns out it was definitely a permissions thing. My user account wasn't able to stop the service. Once adjusted it works as intended. Thanks
