Thank you for this idea! Addressing this idea will be different depending on the type of Feature Service being leveraged. For example, if your Feature Service is based on data coming from a registered Enterprise Geodatabase, it is possible to utilize versioning to create a version for online edits, and share a Feature Service which is referencing this version. This allows for some level of data validation at the database level, where the edits sent to the aforementioned version can undergo QA/QC before being synced back to a parent version. While the versioning option could be seen as a workaround to this, it does not address Feature Services which use nonversioned archiving; nor does it address Feature Services which are shared to ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS via a Hosting Server. While we investigate this idea further, I'd like to understand your workflows here - are you typically using a Feature Service based in an Enterprise Geodatabase? If so, have you explored the option of using versioned data to see if it may meet your needs, or are there other limitations which you are facing?

Thank you for posting this idea! If possible, I'd like to understand your workflows and challenges more deeply here to better give context to this idea. Typically we promote that map creators should author maps specifically for use with Collector, and then new maps can be authored for other purposes which interact with the same datasets. That way, edits made through Collector will persist throughout other maps which "touch" the same layers. With that said, are there aspects of this workflow which do not work for you, or reasons why authoring multiple maps are not possible which you can expand on here?

Hi Eric, Thank you for reaching out, can you please ensure that the data source is the same for both the feature service that you're uploading the attachment to, and the feature when you view it in ArcGIS Desktop? Is the feature service one which is hosted in ArcGIS Online/Portal for ArcGIS, or stored in a registered database and published to ArcGIS Server? If it's published to ArcGIS Server, what errors show up for the feature service in the ArcGIS Server logs? Thanks, Thomas

Using the "Add layers from web" workflow, you should be able to enter the URL for the corresponding Vector Tile Layer into your web map in Portal for ArcGIS, and load the layer. To find which URL to use for the vector tile layer: View the "details" page for the vector tile layer you wish to display Scroll near the bottom-right corner of the page and locate the "URL" section which contains the URL to the vector tile layer Click the copy button to save the URL to your clipboard, alternatively, highlight the entirety of the URL and use the copy command to save the URL to your clipboard Use this URL as an "ArcGIS Server Web Service" when completing the "Add layers from web" workflow in the link provided. I hope this helps!
