This has been implemented, and vector tile layers will be able to be selected through the basemap widget in the Web AppBuilder The following article provides some additional information on this: How To: Add Esri vector basemaps to the default basemap gallery in Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS

Hi Marc, This issue is still present in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1, and while we don't currently have plans for a patch at this time, it will be addressed for the release following 10.7.1. I hope this helps. Thanks, Thomas

Hi Marc, just to double check - have you indeed reached the maximum number of Creator user types in your organization? If so, you are likely running into a known issue with 10.7.x. If all licenses for a user type have been assigned, these WARNING-level log entries will appear whenever somebody logs into the portal. This is something that we consider to be a bug, and will be fixed in the next release.

Hello Nicolas GIS! It looks like you would benefit from taking this issue over to Esri Technical Support, so that we can have a deeper investigation and troubleshooting with the help of our analysts there. If you need some assistance with getting a case created, let me know and I'll be happy to assist.

I've marked this Idea as "Under Consideration" instead of my previous status of "Partially Implemented" and I wanted to explain the reason for this status change. To start, we have indeed introduced scripting with Python and R in Insights 3.2 which hopefully can be of assistance to those who wish to leverage these languages, and which may partially address many user's desires to incorporate Python with their Insights workflows. For some more information about using Python and R with Insights, please check out the following blog post - Scripting in Insights for ArcGIS - Enhance your Location Analytics Experience That said, the request John Dye is asking for here is the ability to batch create Insights workbooks and cards, noting that the manual process is tiresome when the workflow is repeated for a large number of cards. At this moment, the introduction of scripting with Python and R does not allow batch creation like this request is asking for. This feedback has been noted by the team and is being researched, and is why we have gone with the "Under Consideration" status here. For anybody reading this Idea, please continue to share your stories and use-cases for how leveraging the ArcGIS API for Python could benefit your Insights workflows, as well as situations where batch workflows would be of benefit to you.

Hi Tina Morgan! The Synchronize Survey Tool is one which isn't officially supported - which is to say that we're not able to log bugs against it or support workflows which directly use the tool, but I think there are still many areas where support can be of assistance here! If you have some errors in your server logs or are able to reproduce them, then Tech Support can help with interpreting those errors and suggesting some possible causes/solutions. Also, my understanding is that the tool in the back end is making a series of API calls to the server, so it is likely that something the tool is doing can be replicated standalone, by making that same call to the Server manually. Hopefully Tech Support can help to shed some light on this, and alongside the great information in the comments of the post you linked, we can find a way around the errors you are running into. I hope this helps!

Hi Justin, thank you for providing this feedback and deeper insight into your workflows. There is one part of your comment which I was hoping to offer some suggestions and gather further feedback on. You mentioned: ...we are publishing federated feature services into our portal that reference our enterprise geodatabase and are editable. If I want to then provide a read-only service of the same data, I need to then publish a second service of the same data so that I can share it more broadly without fear of it being edited accidentally. If you are using feature services which are published to your federated server, you may have luck by using only the Map Service endpoint in order to deliver a "read-only" service of the same data. When a Feature Service is published, investigating at REST shows that you are really publishing two endpoints: A Map Service, and a Feature Service. The Feature Service will retain any of the editing permissions defined upon publishing or set in ArcGIS Server Manager, and provides editing capabilities to the underlying data. The Map Service on the other hand does not provide editing capabilities, and can optionally be used to query the underlying data in a read-only manner, depending on how it's configured. I pulled up Esri's Sample Server to demonstrate this. There is a Feature Service published to this server called DamageAssessment, but when looking at REST, we can see that there are actually two associated endpoints, the map service, and the feature service. If you were to load the map service endpoint into a webmap, there is no way to perform edits, but you can still see all of the underlying data and perform queries on it. Editing is not possible unless the Feature Service is also added to the map. It sounds like this could perhaps be a strategy to use if you wanted to provide a read-only service of the same data, without needing to impose any additional load on the server. Have you explored this capability? If so, I'd love to learn more about what works and doesn't work for you, so that we can better understand some of these limitations. I hope this helps!

Thank you for submitting this great feedback, Paul. If you encounter any other log messages for either your portal or ArcGIS Server which you believe should have their type changed from "WARNING" to "INFO", please feel free to share them as well.

I agree that surfacing this into the UI in ArcGIS Server Manager will improve upon the usability of this workflow. Unfortunately I don't have an answer to whether this would show up in a patch, but we hear your feedback about this and it has been passed along to the team. Please feel free to continue sharing any other feedback you have about Request IDs, as it will help us understand what is working and what could be further improved upon. Thank you, Michael!

At the moment, filtering by Request ID is only possible at the admin endpoint and through the REST API: (Example URL: https://<Your ArcGIS Server URL>:6443/arcgis/admin/logs/query) We plan to also implement this into the ArcGIS Server Manager UI in a future release. I hope this helps!

Thank you for posting this. I can certainly understand how difficult it can be to sift through a large number of logs, especially when it's "DEBUG" level and there are many services on the server. While this has not quite been implemented at 10.7, I think you may be happy to hear that we have introduced a great new improvement to ArcGIS Server in the form of Request IDs. This can really help with sifting through large volumes of logs, and pinpointing only the logs that correlate to a specific workflow. To quote our documentation on the matter: All requests made to ArcGIS Server services, such as to draw a map or locate an address, are now assigned a unique Request ID. This ID is included in all logs involving the request. Queries to the server logs can be filtered for a specific Request ID, allowing you to view a comprehensive timeline of how the request was processed. Doing so can aid your monitoring, troubleshooting, and server optimization efforts. If you get the chance, I recommend exploring this new feature, as I think it can be really helpful in situations such as yours.

Hi Rob, Thanks for submitting this to the Ideas site! I just left a comment on the linked Idea which you referred to (Simpler map pop-ups in Insights) and I wanted to also leave a comment here to make sure this feedback is fully captured. The current experience involves using the Layer Options to display popup information, if you wish to see a view of all the attributes associated with a certain feature, like this screenshot I just took from my testing: This gives an "Identify tool"-like experience where you can click on features on the map to view their attribute information in a popup. Does this meet your requirements?

Hi Steph, Thank you for submitting this Idea. Beginning in the 2.3 release of Insights, there has been the ability to see more detailed popup information about your layers. This is documented in the following documentation page, under the "Change the layer options" section: Create a map—Insights Create | ArcGIS I tested this out with some sample data that I loaded into a map card in Insights. The data is mock data with fake customer information, and I'm able to see popups such as this: Does this meet your needs in terms of displaying all of the relevant attribute information? Any other feedback or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this idea, Christopher! I'd like to make sure I'm capturing the appropriate request here. Currently, in the Enterprise portal, Administrators can configure various aspects of the password policy for users, or hook into existing enterprise logins - Configure security settings—Portal for ArcGIS (10.6) | ArcGIS Enterprise As an Administrator, this would look something like this: Keeping the "Password will expire after... days" setting unchecked means that the passwords will be non-expiring for the organization. Are you looking to have further granularity with this? Thanks again for this feedback.

Hi Richard, Thank you for sending along this feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had to learn about installing the client libraries through a technical support case, and the information was not clear from reading through our installation guide. This is helpful for us to know moving forwards. Thank you, Thomas
