Hi Randy, Thanks for doing some more testing. Unfortunately neither of the options changed the result; I'm still not getting the field aliases. Which python version are you running? ArcMap? I'm using Python 2.7 and ArcMap 10.2.1 Thanks, Brandon

Hi Wes, Thanks for the reply. When I use "TRUE" in place of "ALIAS" it acts as if it is ignoring the parameter and using the default. The field names still show up in the .xls file as the field name rather than the alias defined in the database. Thanks, Brandon

I'm having trouble specifying field aliases in an excel file I created using arcpy.TableToExcel. I've specified "ALIAS" but it seems to ignore it. The field aliases are set within the database. Can anyone help me with what I'm doing wrong? Or give me another method? Thanks, Brandon import arcpy

Hi Asrujit, Thank you for the help and links. I haven't used a geodata service before so I will need to some more research. Our next step after synchronizing the data from XD02 (production) to XD01 (test) is to move schema changes from XD01 (test) to XD02 (production). Would the same geodata service be used in both replicas or does that depend on the type of replica (one-way, two-way, etc.)? Any more information you can give me would be useful. Thanks, Brandon

Hello, I'm in the process of testing geodatabase replication to support our ArcGIS Server team. I've successfully made one-way parent to child replicas using the Distributed Geodatabase toolbar in ArcMap. The parent database (XD02) contains versioned data with Global IDs. The child database (XD01) contains the same data and is also verisioned and contains Global IDs. Using ArcMap I'm able to select the "Register existing data" radio button but that option is not obvious to me when I use the tool. I've attached a screenshot of the tool dialog. When I run the tool I only get ERROR 000582. Can anyone shed some light on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks, Brandon

Hi Jim, I believe the answer to your question is that your ArcGIS Server services and the AGOL Basemaps have no data interaction. The basemap is a single contained service coming from Esri's servers and your services are contained and coming from your ArcGIS Server. Can you elaborate on your data publishing workflow a little more? WIthout some more information I can't see a way that your internal data would be at risk. Thanks, Brandon

Hi Simo, It's been a little while but I think the "register" refers to having the database registered with ArcGIS server rather than copying the data to the server. I would think that both methods work but haven't tested anything besides registering the data with the server. Thanks, Brandon

An excellent question. I don't know the answer but it is possible to change the pop-up size if you're curious.

Hi Donald, I've done as you suggested and left this unanswered. I wasn't aware of the ability to save out service configuration changes from AGOL. Does this get confusing in terms of naming or searching for layers in AGOL? I can envision a scenario where I've saved out three different service configurations and a user might get confused about which they should use. Brandon

Hi Jonathan, Edit: Sorry Jonathan, I guess I failed the reading comprehension portion of geonet. I thought you meant the map id, not a layer id. My apologies. Two easy ways that I know about: When you save the map and then when you look at the details of the map. After you save the map the link will change to show the id And then when you look at the details of a map it is also in the browser link The id is the same just called a little different in the browser link. Hope this helps. Best, Brandon

Hi all, I'm attempting to fix a number formatting issue in the edit pop-up in a web appbuilder application. The application seems to ignore my format code (probably because I'm doing it wrong). I would like the numbers to display without the thousand separator but I'm not able to make changes appear when I edit the config_Edit.json file. Is it being over-ridden by something else in the code? Any ideas would be helpful. I would also like this in the default pop-up without having to edit the pop-up in ArcGIS Online. Pure laziness on my part; I already need to make application code changes and hitting the pop-ups is easier for me than using the AGOL user interface. { "fieldName": "ACCOUNTNUMBER", "label": "Account Number", "format":{ "places": 2, "digitSeparator": false }, "isEditable": true }, Thanks, Brandon

Hi Donald, No that is our workflow as well; I'm happy to see other people using Spatial Views! You are right that the formatting persists when you edit the pop-up in AGOL. I had hoped to cut out the pop-up formatting step in ArcGIS online purely out of laziness. I don't really like the user interface for pop-up configuration (compared to ArcMap) and I've been burned in the past having users un-check the pop-up in AGOL and having to re-do all my formatting. I don't know if this issue still exists but it was painful enough I've been reluctant to test it again. I'm still interested in the code solution but I think I'll post in another portion of geonet that is more appropriate. If you're interested, or other in the future, I can share the link here. Thanks for your help! Brandon

Hi Donald, Can you tell me the workflow you follow for publishing your services? Do you need to visit the Number Format section of the fields properties? It sounds like there may be something you're doing differently than I am or that it's something I should follow up with esri on. The fields I'm looking at are "Long" type. What type are yours?
