The Scene Viewer requires all cached layers to have both the same horizontal coordinate system as well as vertical coordinate system. Since the basemaps do not have the same vertical coordinate system as the voxel layer they are dropped automatically. What I would do is create a projection file with just the Web Mercator horizontal coordinate system and place it in next to the netCDF file in the file system. This will override the netCDF coordinate system so when you re-add the netCDF as a voxel layer you should see no VCS. From there you can then create the voxel scene layer package and publish it as a voxel scene layer. Regarding the time slider, this is not available in the Scene Viewer. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/voxel-layer-freqently-asked-questions.htm#anchor5 thanks, Andrew

Hi Eric, Publishing mobile scene packages is not currently supported but it is something the team is looking into down the road. ArcGIS Runtime only supports Global scenes so if you wanted to view the scene in a ArcGIS Runtime application then it would have to be a global scene. I documented these considerations in this help topic https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/map-authoring/author-for-arcgis-runtime.htm It sounds like the best option in this scenario is to create individual slpks, tpks and then have the organization upload those items, publish the services and then add them to a web scene. Another option is to automate this using the ArcGIS API for Python so each organization can simply run the script with the data you have provided https://developers.arcgis.com/python/sample-notebooks/publishing-web-maps-and-web-scenes/ https://developers.arcgis.com/python/sample-notebooks/publishing-packages-as-web-layers/ thanks, Andrew

Hi Eric, Unfortunately, that's not possible as scene layer packages only support a specific type of data (e.g Point, Point Cloud, 3D Object, Voxel) and not combining multiple types into one type. If you want multiple data types included together with a scene then the workflow for online is to use web scenes and offline to use mobile scenes. thanks, Andrew

Hi, It sounds like the workflow is to share the web scene to portal. The second link contains steps on how to share a web scene to portal. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/map-authoring/author-a-web-scene.htm https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/sharing/overview/share-a-web-scene.htm thanks, Andrew

This is under consideration in one form or another. We are currently working on updating point cloud scene layers but it would be managed through a service on ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise. For example you could upload a slpk and update the part of the service that needs updating. You would also be able to track updates over time and filter those updates in the service. I do not have an exact date on this but I will provide more updates as I have more information.

Hi David, Partial and full updates of scene layers are only supported on scene layers with an associated feature layer in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise. It is not currently possible to update a portion of a slpk. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/what-is-a-scene-layer-with-associated-feature-layer-.htm Is there a specific type of data you are working with? (e.g. point cloud, 3D Object etc)? thanks, Andrew

Hi, Yes the voxel layer only supports regularly gridded data so you'll need to use the 3D gridded setting since the input data wasn't gridded. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/voxel-layer-freqently-asked-questions.htm#anchor1 There's no tool to clip a NetCDF file so you would either have to clip the points themselves before you perform the interpolation and export to NetCDF or use the slice tools available on the Voxel Layer. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/voxel-layer-slices.htm thanks, Andrew

Based on the warnings in the screenshots it looks like this NetCDF is not a true volumetric dataset. Also the elevation spacing does not have to be the same as the XY spacing. I'd recommend taking a look at the resource below. It provides a variety of workflows for creating volumetric netCDF data from point data. There's also links to learn lessons that provide detailed steps on how to setup the tool parameters to ensure the output is a volumetric netCDF. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/create-a-voxel-layer.htm thanks, Andrew

Hi, Group layers are supported in mobile scene packages so it must be one of the layers within the group layer that is unsupported. The tool will tell you which layer is not supported and needs to be removed from the scene. thanks, Andrew

Hi, Not all tools support input of the elevation source. I'll reach out to the appropriate team so they can look into this. Also the help link below has some good information when using services as input to the tools. Thanks for reporting this. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/appendices/geoprocessing-considerations-for-elevation-surface-input.htm regards, Andrew

Hi, I'm not sure which layers are causing the error but if the error is being thrown then those layers need to be removed from the scene as Runtime does not support those layer types. There's a short list documented here of more commonly used layers which may not capture every possible unsupported layer type https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/map-authoring/2d-and-3d-operational-layers.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_C4B4DE16ED2C480FA50865C7F0A9B527 thanks, Andrew

Hi, It sounds like Agisoft is creating a slpk that violates the I3S Specification so ArcGIS Pro will not read it. You can input the slpk to the Validate Scene Layer tool to confirm it is meeting requirements spelled out by the specification. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/validate-scene-layer-package.htm thanks, Andrew

Hi, Thanks for posting this. We are aware that this is not possible through arcpy or the ArcGIS API for Python. If you could create an ArcGIS Idea about this (with Scene Layers tag) that would be great so you and others can track the status of this functionality. It is something we do want to implement but requires work across multiple teams so I cannot provide you any estimate on timing but the idea is the best route to go so I can update the status as I have more information for you. regards, Andrew
