Another option would be to simply export the attribute table and then bring it back in as an event layer based on the lat/long fields and then save it as a new dataset.

Do you ever anticipate developing an "importer" that would allow users to migrate Classic Story Maps to the newer standard?

Not a fan of the result. In my browser, the "Home/Shortlist/More" text shows up as black on the purple header. It's basically invisible. The same thing applies to the second section which has the "Restaurants/Fun Places" division. It's black text on dark gray so I didn't even know there was the Fun Places option. It looks this way in both Chrome and Firefox. The functionality inside this second section is also awkward. You click on a "Detail" button and it loads a new page in the frame which a "back" button. You click the back button and it basically reloads the entire app and wipes out where you were on the page to begin with. The Detail button should open modal dialog instead of loading a page in the frame. This is basically the new Storymaps design so why pursue this instead of the Storymaps?

Ok, thanks. Ugh. While things like auto-casting are definite improvements, I feel like many of the other changes from 3.x to 4x are just obtuse.

I feel dense but I cannot figure out how to specify the symbology for a graphicsLayer. There's no renderer property like what you find with featureLayers. Is it instead tied to the sketchViewModel?

It's not clear if you want to get the location from where a user clicks on the map or you want to get the user's physical locaation in the work at the time they click your button. If the latter, HTML 5 has a geolocation API which can be used to get that information. See this Stackoverflow question.

3.x to 4.x migration pains- Can you place the sketch widget in a div located outside of the map? I'm developing an app which uses an AccordionPane to define a workflow and one step is to draw a graphic and I'd like to place the widget in one of the AccordionPanes. The Sketch widget sample uses "view.ui.add()" to place the sketch widget into the map but I don't see another way to specify where the widget is placed. Thanks! Steve

And, if it's not explicitly clear, I'd like this feature to apply to rasters as well. Here is a figure that I have to create with some regularity where I am clipping a raster of land use classifications to a buffered polygon of a feature (land use within 1km of a wetland). Currently, I have to manually clip a dataset just to achieve this effect. It would be great if I could accomplish the same thing with a virtual mask based upon by buffered polygon.

If you don't want to program something, ESRI recently released a Zone Lookup configurable app through ArcGIS Online. Otherwise, it can be done but you'll need to code it to query your parcel, get its geometry, and then query your zoning layer (and any other desirable layers) based on that parcel geometry to see what it intersects with.

I want to look into the workflow of using Collector to collect field data. When I look at my AGO profile in my AGO organizational account, it lists that my role is "user" and my user type is "creator". I tried to follow along with this blog post about making a Collector map and the first step is to Create a Feature Layer. When I attempt this, Feature Layer and Tile Layer are not present as options under the Create Content button. According to this blog post under the Capturing new crop data header, it states: Creator – Supporting the work of the Agronomist, members with a minimum Creator user type can create new feature layers, maps, forms, and groups within the organization that can be shared with the Field Worker so that they can complete their field work. So what's happening here? Can organizational admins override user type defaults? Thanks- Steve

I found an old Idea submitted for GeoPDF support for ArcGIS Online but I'd like to see GeoPDFs supported for Javascript API applications (and, by extension, WebApp Builder applications) as an additional layer option like a mapImageLayer. This would allow non-GIS people to compare spatial information in a geoPDF against other information that might be bundled as part of a JS API app or an ArcGIS Online map that has been developed as a WebApp Builder application.
