Hello. I am newbie in the web app builder area. How can I apply a definition expression on a layer to draw only the features that meets the criteria. I looked into the layerInfos in the json file but I am not sure iof you can you use a definition expression. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Robert. I was referring to the community custom built widgets that used to be posed in the ESRI's ArcGIS Viewer for Flex webpage.

I noticed that for layers that have a large number of records, the Attribute table returns the messages that there are no features. I dont know what is the cut off. I tried for 10K and it works but for 60K nope.

I posted this in Flexviewer and got no response. Hopefully get a beter response here.... I developed a web app (flex 3.6) and it seems everything work well in IE and Chrome. However, Firefox displays the error seen in the attachment. I know one way to resolve this is to set the addarcgisbasemaps="false" , however I need the basemaps to be accessible. Why firefox has a problem with basemaps? Suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks Robert. To publish the app on the production server, I use sometimes the bin-release option as well, but still the xml file is not in the widget folder. When I test the app, I use the localhost of my workstation web server. When I compile the app, the xml file is not copied to the localhost. In either case, bin-release or testing the app, I have to manually copy the xml file in the widget to successfully test the app. The setting you referred to is already set that way. Thanks.

I know this is an easy question, but it just puzzles me a great deal. One of my custom widgets when I run it, it refuses to copy its xml file to the server. It only compiles the mxml file and it sends the swf to the server. The xml file is defined in the widget section of the config.xml of the app. All other custom widgets run with their own xml file with no problems. Ideas? Thank you.

Thank you Robert. I use custom url parameters and I use the externalinteface to read them. I thought that injecting the config.xml, it would not be read. But I was wrong. I should check it first. Sorry to waste your time.

I have been using the url parameters in my projects either with a specific location or with a custom config.xml file. However, now I am working on a project where I need to have both the location and the custom config.xml file posted on the flexviewer url. Is that possible? Thanks.

Thank you Robert. I can't believe how did I miss the proxyURL since I was checking each property. Using queryBufferTask.proxyURL= "http://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx/DotNetProxy/proxy.ashx?https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/arcgis/rest/services/Project_PAD/PAD/MapServer/0"; would draw the same error #2101. However, using the url and the proxyURL, it works. queryBufferTask.url="https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/arcgis/rest/services/Project_PAD/PAD/FeatureServer/0" queryBufferTask.proxyURL = "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx/DotNetProxy/proxy.ashx?";
