I would suggest that you contact Pacific Islands Benthic Habitat Mapping Center through University of Hawai'i and find out what spatial reference you need to attach to the .asc file.

Frances For the bathy data, do you just have the .asc file or do you also have a .prj file? Who created the .asc file and where does the metadata come from? -Steve

The disk size does not say much, how many columns/rows does the raster have id a better indicator. What will the output feature class be used for? I would suggest one of these 2 methods. Use SplitRaster with a 1 cell overlap and contour each raster specify max_vertices_per_per_feature in the Contour tool -Steve

Bruce You have a polygon feature class that you want to convert to a raster, correct? - what coordinate system are you using, projected in meters I guess? - what is the default cell size that appears in the PolygonToRaster tool? - what cell size should the output raster have? -Steve

Alexis I'm glad to hear that you've solved your problem. A raster attribute table can only be created for integer rasters and Curvature produces a floating point raster and that is why you could not build a table. -Steve

good. However, if your points are on a grid you don't need to interpolate. You can use the PointToRaster tool, that is, if each cell has at least one point.
