That is not what I mean. Install VS2012. Then create a new solution for ArcGIS 10.3.1 using one of the templates. make sure you can compile it. Then open and work with this solution using VS2015 - it should work. Use VS2012 ONLY to create the initial solution in the correct way.

Hi I do not know why it does not show the current instance. I know you can ignore this screen, the user that installed the software will be manager. Then you can try to use the "database servers" in Catalog to add more users (including admins).

Hi Randy If you already have a SDE/SQL database then you know how to do it and you have the license. Why not open a few more databases on the same SQL and split all the layers between them by area/group of people or any other cretria. Each user will connect to the schema that s/he needs and see a small list of layers.

Hi This version of VS and framework is not supported in 10.3.1 ArcObjects SDK 10.3.x system requirements—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop The best way is to install one of the supported VS, then you have all the templates ready to use in it. You create your solution in VS 1012 and then you can just keep working on it in VS 2015 (and change the framework too). It works for me...

Hello all I am trying to develop a standalone application with the ReaderControl (it is free…) I follow the example in ArcGIS\DeveloperKit10.4\Samples\ArcObjectsNet\ARControlMapTools. I am trying to add the Draw Markup tool to let the user draw on screen (a standard tool in ArcReader application). I tried to set the CurrentARTool to esriARToolMarkupBlack or to esriARToolMarkupPenThick but none of them works. Any ideas how to make it work?

Do you have to put an idea for functionality that already exists in ArcMap? I think most people uses old MXD's that is why this problem did not showed before... I hope somebody from the team will comment on this.

You must have an Engine developer kit license in order to use the controls. You get this license as part of EDN.

I am trying to connect from Pro to Private schema in Oracle (where the metadata tables not owned by SDE) and fail. In the screen shot you can see the geodatabase connection properties – changing the schema does not change the version. The help say: "ArcGIS Pro only supports connections to transactional versions at this time" This looks like basic functionality to me – why is it not supported? I could read a lyr file created in ArcMap with layers from the private schema or even take the connection file from ArcMap and load it into pro and get all the layers but I think it should be in pro without workarounds. Am I missing something? Thanks

hello You should have a directory with all the mxd's used for publishing but if not you should go to C:\arcgisserver\directories\arcgissystem\arcgisinput and get all the MXD's. For example C:\arcgisserver\directories\arcgissystem\arcgisinput\SERVICE1.MapServer\extracted\v101\service1.mxd Put them in some temporary directory and republish them after a clean install. If you change any parameters (for example number of instances) you will have to remember it. You can get the model/python scripts in the same way for GpServices (even they usually a little different then original). Image services you just have to check where the original image/mosaic is and republish. A little work but not too much. Have fun Mody

Does the server log have any errors? Can you run the hillshade as a GP from ArcMap (not as a service) on the same data?

Hi As far as I know this is the way it works and it is not a bug... The way around is to write your ArcObject code in a different executable and run it from the main program (system call). You can send parameters or create a file with information that the other executable will read when it starts. Mody

You can put rasters with different pixel depth or different number of band in a mosaic but it usually looks bad. You better change all your rasters into 3 band true color (8 unsigned bit) and then create the mosaic. The CopyRaster GP tool can help you to do it. Have fun

If you are not into programming you can export entire FGDB into XML format. It only works for FGDB and it is not simple to get only coordinates from this file.

One more comment. The server log will show any error messages from the tool. Just like the result window in ArcMap.
