Hi. So updating the Time Zone on the webservice is now saving the proper date/time in to our table in SDE. Thanks for the tip!!

Thanks everyone. I am working with the support at VertiGIS too, so hopefully I'll get this figured out soon. Lots of options to look in to.

Hi. We are in EST, which normally is -5, but maybe with daylight savings that is why it is at -4?? That whole topic of DST vs normal time is confusing enough!! 🙂

Hi, So when saving to a "Date" type field, does it always convert the time to UTC, or does it just store the date/time as whatever is fed/typed in. For example, in a VertiGIS Mobile application I am working on we are auto setting the Inspection Date field in a form with = Date.Now(), but when the form saves to the table in our SDE it seems to be saving 4 hours ahead. So what should be 9/21/2023 @ 8:22AM actually shows up in the data as 9/21/2023 @ 12:22PM. Can anyone explain what might be going on??

Hi Alfred, I was working on this today and what seems to be working is this. It's not really that different from the first one I tried, but today it's working. select GISWRKS1.works.WAT_ControlValve_evw.*
FROM GISWRKS1.works.WAT_ControlValve_evw
WHERE FACILITYID NOT IN (
SELECT FACILITYID FROM GISWRKS1.works.INSPECTIONS_VALVE_INSPECTION
WHERE DATEPART(year, GISWRKS1.works.INSPECTIONS_VALVE_INSPECTION.INSP_DATE) >= 2022) This gives me all valves not done in 2022 (or later), which is what I am looking for. Maybe just scrapping everything and starting from scratch is what helped??

Hi, I'm trying to use the following SQL statment in the "Edit Query Layer" dialog, but it seems to be getting hung-up on the "year" part of the query where I am just looking for rows that have an INSP_DATE year of 2022. I don't think this "year" functionality exists in the query tool, so I am just wondering on an alternative method. I've tried every SQL trick I can think of, but cannot get this to work. select GISWRKS1.works.WAT_ControlValve_evw.*
FROM GISWRKS1.works.WAT_ControlValve_evw
WHERE FACILITYID NOT IN (
SELECT FACILITYID FROM GISWRKS1.works.INSPECTIONS_VALVE_INSPECTION
WHERE DATEPART(year, INSP_DATE) = 2022) This should exclude all valves that had in inspection done in 2022, but it always shows all valves. Thanks,

Hi @Wolf . Unfortunately, that made no difference for me. With or without that "Enable Undo" checkbox checked, the Editor Extension will not fire when I use the Field Calculator tool. Any ideas as to what might be going on? Under standard editing, all of my custom editing tools and other tools (like Attrribute Transfer, Split, etc.) my custom Editor Extension will work.....just not when the Field Calculator runs.

Hi....hmmmm....that seems very complex. This is all in ArcGIS Pro....it's not a web app, or an online map of any sort. I just want to be able to have that text element update based on the related page of the Map Series. For example, on page 1 the text is "City of Pickering (Pickering)", and on page 13 the text is "City of Picking (Pickering/Ajax Border)". What I want is for whenever the SETTLEMENTAREA = "Pickering", then it doesn't insert anything, and it just stays at "City of Pickering". I guess I could just update the attribute in the feature, but there must be a way to do this direct within the layout. I've seen this post where they are using Arcade to update a text element, but I have no clue how they are accessing the Expression Builder in order to do this. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/help-with-automating-a-text-box-using-arcade/m-p/1314852#M71670

Hi, I have a Map Series Layout going with a dynamic text element based on an attribute. It shows like this: And here is the code for it: City of Pickering (<dyn type="page" property="attribute" field="SETTLEMENT"/>) Is it possible to customize this further using an IF statement? I want different formatting to happen depending on what the value of SETTLEMENT might be. Is there an Expression Builder for a text element?? I can't seem to find anywhere to customize. I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.9.5 Thanks

Hi @FCC_EnvironmentS_A_ . Have you had any luck in producing the kind of map book you are looking for with Pro? We have been using the MapLogic layout manager in ArcMap for years, but they are not adapting their tools to work in ArcGIS Pro, so I am trying to figure out a way to convert out existing ArcMap mapbook projects into Pro, without losing too much functionality. So far, it's not looking good. I can get the main map series pages, but things like an inset frame on each page to use as an overall locator will not work. Key Maps, street listings, and title pages are other issues. What have you been able to work out?? Thanks,

In ArcGIS we have been using MapLogic Layout Manager to create all of our "map books". With ArcGIS Pro, we are restricted to using the "Map Series", which is ok, but not as functional as the MapLogic product. In the transition to ArcGIS Pro, it would really be ideal to eliminate all the hard copy printing of these map books (literally 1000's of pages every year; a water/sanitary system at 1:500 scale pages). Has anyone messed around with creating an online application for showing a Map Series in an intuitive way, where it's easy to navigate pages, print pages, etc.?? How did you do it?? Thanks,
