Hi @JakeSkinner I just tried the workflow again (Created new user, published service, changed password, restarted service) and it worked! So, can I assume that if I change the IP address in the connection file that it will work the same way? When does this script need to be run?

@JakeSkinner We changed the password as a test. It is SQL Server authentication and yes the ArcGIS Server account has privileges to the entire database.

@JakeSkinner Yes we got the error in this screenshot. The support analyst I was working with said that this happens in 90% of cases that he sees and his conclusion was "existing services are likely to break if any of the following parameters are changed during migration: Database machine IP address, database instance, database name, username and password."

Wow. Okay! This morning we tested changing the password on one of my connections. We stopped a service published using that connection, changed the password, imported the new connection, restarted the service and it failed. I guess that's because we need the additional step of running the script. I just went from feeling defeated to optimistic! Can I give you my ticket number so you can internally update the tech support analysts? He was adamant that there is no workaround.

@JakeSkinner We are about to migrate my enterprise geodatabases to a new machine with a new IP address. I have a ton of registered services published to my Portal. I've had two separate calls with Esri Tech Support this week and was told that it is impossible to change the instance name or IP address without breaking all of the services and having to republish them. Am I right that this post means that is NOT the case? I can run this script and avoid having to recreate everything? I'm extra confused now! Where do you run this script; on the ArcGIS Server machine?

FYI for all - Esri tech support did provide me a fix for this finally! I would put in a ticket with them if you are having the same issue.

Updating this -- I ended up completely rebuilding and republishing the feature service to a new survey and the report template worked. HOWEVER, I just had to make a few changes to the survey/feature service (add a couple fields to the main table and two related tables), and now I'm getting the query error again when I upload a report template. @JamesTedrick or Survey123 team -- any idea how to fix this without rebuilding the entire survey again? This is about to be a major production survey for 2000 users and I can't keep having to rebuild it and change the link every time I need to add a field.

This error just started with this particular feature service around 1-2 weeks ago, I think maybe around when 3.20 Connect was released. This is a new survey - it happened with my original one so I completely re-created it and republished and am still having the report generation problem.

I'm using Enterprise 11.2 and have a survey that I created in Connect 3.19 but re-published in 3.20, and now I am having issues generating reports. I don't have this problem with other surveys. When I go to generate a report, I get the error An error occurred when assembling data. Error message: An error occurred when querying data from the feature layer. HTTP 403: Forbidden The expression leads to this error:${# FirstRelatedTableName} I can't generate any reports, even if I use the sample Esri template. Did something change in 3.20? This wasn't an issue a week ago. Thanks! @JamesTedrick @ZacharySutherby

No it's the opposite - it works when he takes a screenshot of the images that failed to upload. So I'm assuming it's a size problem but why all the sudden with the same phone and same survey?

I have a survey published via Connect to a feature service in my SQL Server Enterprise gdb. Users have been submitted records to the survey, including images taken with their iPhones and Androids, for months. Yesterday, a user who has been using his same phone to collect survey data and photos for months was suddenly hit with the error upon submission: "Error performing upload operation, File size or type not supported for this service". He was able to submit when taking screenshots of the photos and uploading those. Why would this suddenly be a problem if the workflow has not changed? Is there a setting I can change or have users change? We have 1,000+ officers we are about to deploy this to and I can't have it be a reoccurring problem. Thanks!

Nope! They only logged it as a bug. Hope I get a resolution soon because it’s been a real pain.
