Simon, Is there anything unusual about this service? Complicated join, GUID or other custom field? Nothing intentional. It does have a raster field which has caused me problems with Flexviewer but that is turned off. Your enhanced search widget works great for all except for one service. No matter what I do I get an error#1034 when I try to open the data grid. The data grid opens with the field headings specified, but it is blank even though valid results are displayed in the widget. Your widget works great will all of my other services. I have even tried rebuilding the service from scratch to see if there was an issue there. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!! The service in question is somewhat sensitive so please email me smorgan at threeriversparkdistrict.org if you need to see it to help me.

I went to authorization and provisioning on the customer care portal and generated a file but the provisioning files don't show up when you browse for them fromt he GP tool. I would like to have a GP widget that invovles no map input. It is all give me the input table and the output table and then it saves a feature class to disk. Here is my config file, the GP service runs fine outside of flexviewer. I have tried makign the output params inputs to no avail. <?xml version="1.0"?> <configuration label="Message in a bottle"> <description/> <taskurl>http://gis.threeriversparkdistrict.org/ArcGIS/rest/services/GP_Tools/LatLong2UTM/GPServer/Convert%20GPS%20to%20UTMs</taskurl> <helpurl>http://gis.threeriversparkdistrict.org/arcgisoutput/GP_Tools_LatLong2UTM/LatLongtoUTM.htm</helpurl> <inputparams> <param name="Input_Table" defaultvalue="C:\GIS\LatLong_table.dbf" label="Input Table" required="true" type="string" visible="true"/> <param name="Longitude__X_" defaultvalue="Point_X" label="Longitude (X)" required="true" type="string" visible="true"/> <param name="Latitude__Y_" defaultvalue="Point_Y" label="Latitude (Y)" required="true" type="string" visible="true"/> </inputparams> <outputparams> <param name="Output_Feature_Class" defaultvalue="C:\Documents and Settings\gs2\My Documents\ArcGIS\Default.gdb\UTM_output" label="Output Feature Class" required="true" type="featurerecordset" visible="true"/> <param name="Output_Table" defaultvalue="C:\GIS\Output_UTM_table.dbf" label="Output Table" required="true" type="recordset" visible="true"/> </outputparams> <!--<layerorder>Input_Point,Output</layerorder>--> </configuration> <!-- See Geoprocessing widget documentation at http://links.esri.com/geoprocessingwidget -->

Hi, Is there a way to autopopulate fields in the attribute editor when creating and editing features? e.g. inserting the current date into a date field. Cheers, Shannaka Not sure about how to auto-populate the date field, but with all other fields you could set a default value at the database level OR set a default value on the editing template in the MXD. The flex viewer will respect these default values. To access the editing templates, simply open an edit session in the MXD you published to the server and right click the appropriate layer in the create features window and go to properties.

Not sure if this would be possible, but a universal GP widget would be nice. The widget could use any GP service as an input (maybe restricted to asynchronous or whatever was needed for programming purposes). In the config file, the user could configure the servcie URL and the inputs needed to run the GP service. Email notification - a point is placed on a map and this triggers an email to a user. For example, if there is an issue with the map data, a flag could be placed on the map and the data administrator notified. Or, a member fo the public could be reporting a bench has been damaged and an email be sent to the maintenance supervisor.

Just thought of one other request, although I am sure you don't have time to do it for the initial release. But if you could consider it for the future - the ability to manually reorder the stops.

Yes. Give that a try Figured it out. I narrowed it down to one widget. When I originally upgraded to 2.2 I modified the existing esearch widget config file I had to match the new format as mentioned in the important changes document that downloads with the widget. Well I must have done it wrong because I just re-did my esearch config files from scratch (using the config file that you incldue int he zip file as a template) and now I do not have a problem, even with widgets compiled that do not explicitly support 2.2.

Simon, Not a lot of info to go on here... As you are the only one reporting this issue and I have never seen it in any of my testing I am not even sure where to be begin looking. Initially in your post you thought it was more wide spread. So what have to done as far as testing to narrow it down the the eSearch? I am definitely willing to debug this if I can duplicate your issue. If you switch your config.xml file and use esri base maps and not Bing do you get the same result? Do you have any slow map services in your map? are all map services using the same projection? Some many variables and questions... Figured it out. This error occurs if you use ArcGIS Flex Viewer 2.1 compiled widget with 2.2 Viewer. Try compiling your entire source with 2.2 (including all your widgets) This should fix this error There was change made in 2.2 to get rid of following warning that was reported in http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/13542-Flex-4.1-SDK-Warning-with-FlexViewer-2.1?highlight=warning "Description Resource Path Location Type com.esri.viewer:BaseWidget is a module or application that is directly referenced. This will cause com.esri.viewer:BaseWidget and all of its dependencies to be linked in with index. Using an interface is the recommended practice to avoid this. flexviewer2.1 Unknown Flex Problem" Docs will be updated with this information. I only compile with flexviewer 2.2. Although I do have a couple of widgets that have not been updated sicne 2.2 was released. Should I remove these from my code and then compile again?

I have been through all of my application and used every widget and it only seems to happen consistently immediately after the esearch widget is fired up (both 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 did this). I am not certain it is your widget, it just currently appears to be the only consistent cause right now. I do get the same result with ESRI base maps. Robert, The problem I reported in ths followng thread: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/20134-Flex-Viewer-2.2-gets-Stuck only seems to happen when I open your esearch widget. When the widget is opened, some of the widget icons disappear, and when I zoom in by clicking on a result the base map does not reload. However, continuign to use the graphic tools still gives a fresh set of results. I am using version 2.2.2 Do you have any ideas? Thanks, Simon

Could you keep an eye on the http requests and response that are going through with tools such as firebug/httpfox fiddler so that when ever you see viewer not refreshing the map, its cause can be pinpointed. So I managed to reproduce my issue, this time with fiddler running (attached file si the output). What is interesting is that I used Robert's enchance search widget. When I drug aselection polygon over the area, it produced results highlighted with the red selection graphic. However, when I did this, fiddler was no longer logging. It stopped logging when flexviewer got stuck after I zoomed in and then zoomed out. I am using Bing as my basemap.
