No constraints that I know of. I am a local admin on the pc in question. Everyone that has Pro installed has this same issue. I guess I can try to sleuth out what files or folders is causing this.

I don't believe that is the issue we are having. What you describe has plagued ArcCatalog as well. Our issue seems specific to certain folders that we've had around for a long time that have all kinds of subfolders and gis related files in them. Again, something to note is that if I type in the exact path into the path text box, I get to the folder in question... it's just that Pro won't list those particular folders if trying to browse to them. See my screenshots above.

I seem to remember reading about this issue where Pro won't show certain folders if, within those specific folders, there are certain file types related to old "Info" directories... or some such... In any event, there is something going on within certain folders that Pro doesn't like.

We are still having this issue at 1.4.1 as well. See my previous post above.

Thanks Owen, Will look into it. Can you elaborate a little on the "creating copies of your layer" comment? What exactly does that look like?

I have a similar question. I have a map service with a single point "time aware" layer in it. I'd like to create a map journal-like story map that progresses based on the time elements of the point layer. So, for example, my point data has about 30 points that have date/time start/stop fields from Monday through this friday. I'd like to put that in a map journal type story map so that as the user scrolls down on the journal side, it reads the time aware data and zooms to the relevant time and extent in the main map. Any other ideas would be great too. I can't seem to find any robust time-aware story map functionality other than the "time-aware app", which is really just a web map with a time slider bar. Ideally, I'd love to see a map journal type app that reads in the time fields and displays the popup data in the scrolling journal on the left side of the map without having to reenter in all that descriptive data in the journal section.

Did you try uninstall/reinstall? That's the only thing that worked for me.

Is there a way to do an Identify in the "preview" window for feature classes in the Project pane? As I browse data in our enterprise gdb data warehouse, it's nice to be able to scroll down the list of feature classes and see a preview, but I can't seem to do much with that, including clicking on features and seeing the attributes for that features (identify operation). This was something I did every day in ArcCatalog and seems like an indispensable and common practice. Maybe I'm missing something and that functionality is somewhere else? Thanks, -Royce

I can't seem to add a new layout to an ArcGIS Pro 1.4.1 project without it crashing. Sometimes the layout tab will come up but the actual content of the tab area is empty where there should be a layout object, but then Pro will crash within seconds. I can add maps, layers, etc... just not layouts. I've tried dedicating ArcGIS Pro to both my integrated graphics as well as the dedicated gpu without any success. Any ideas or tricks to get this to work? Thanks, -Royce

Answer: Our shared file system where the config-store, output, jobs, etc... folders are located had "oplocks" enabled. I had our sys admin disable that and now the services perform 10x faster.

Thanks for working with me Jonathan. I ran a 1=1 query on the map service (layer 0) and it returned all 37 in less than a second, same result several times. The same query via feature service layer zero took 2 to 4 seconds each time. I've noticed in Chrome Dev tools that a bunch of queries are fired off to AGS from the client... like 15... all are in a wait state, then about 30 or more seconds later, they trickle in and finish.
