This is in Dashboard. If you have some time, you can run through the tutorial on Dashboard as well, and it will hit all of these points and more about setting up views.

For the webmap to be public, all of the underlying services have to also be public. You can set these in the Share tab under People. Make sure that the "Apply sharing settings to referenced items" is also checked. Then click Update Sharing to change the settings: As for the list widget, if you had the same feature layer in the data sources, it would see both.

It shouldn't cause anything to break in Dashboard, unless you had widgets using that map service. If you want to use those with the new feature service, they will have to be redone. Otherwise, you could have both the map service and the feature service in the same map. Anything else should be unaffected. If not, please let me know.

Right- you will need to open the map in AGOL and edit the layers there by removing the map service layer and getting the feature layer for it instead. Then save the map and when you reopen the Ops View, your list will update.

Selection only works with feature services (this has been a WPF limitation since the beginning) and so if you want to use selection with data in the map, it has to be through a feature service.

Is the checkbox there, but just greyed out? Or missing completely? If greyed out- you just need to check the data source on to enable it. If missing- then that layer isn't a feature service and can't be used for data sources in the map (and therefore unselectable).

Hi Mike, In order to be able to select features in a map, you will need to enable it when you do the Configure Map step: For popups, you will need to enable those also through the Configure Map, on the Capabilities tab: To Share a view, you will save it first and then go to the Share tab and the links are there:

It could be that you have not enabled the refresh interval on your web map. Can you check the web map and see if that layer has a refresh interval set?

There isn't any way to bring in the data without some kind of service behind it- either ArcGIS Online, Portal or Server. And you could use a table view as well (with OID) from either a map service or feature service.

Mike- In order for you to use the table as a data source in Ops Dashboard, it has to be accessible through the service, i.e., through the REST endpoint as a table. For example, the following service has a feature class and a table available that you could use as data sources: http://services.arcgis.com/c3gjVStQJSOiRJaj/ArcGIS/rest/services/TestRelationshipsForPro/FeatureServer The other caveat with using a table is that it has to have an OID field in order to be brought in as a data source. This help topic has more information on external data sources. Thanks, Chris

OK thanks. We installed an new HTML library last fall that revamped a lot of those kind of issues. I just wanted to check in and see how things were going. Thanks! Chris

Mark, We are releasing a new version of Operations Dashboard for Portal users in February (10.4). This new version has support for the JavaScript based extensions as well as bug fixes. Being as both the JS based web version of Dashboard and WAB are built on the same JS platform, I'm surprised you would have performance differences. Perhaps there is a configuration issue? Can you expand on the issue?

Operations Dashboard hasn't released anything that would directly interact with Twitter feeds, but Esri does have an App that you can customize and build to show tweets: Add tweets to your web map | ArcGIS Blog This might help get you started. Chris
