I've seen the exported file geodatabase get limited to 2GB, so you'll think it has been successful but you'll get a corrupt file geodatabase.

No resolution here, I've stopped using Collector and left it to people in our organisation with devices that are still running version 10.4.

The simplest answer would be that the map "Name of map" doesn't exist in your project. I don't think you have to specify a map name, or you can use wildcards, if you don't always know the name.

It looks like a reasonably powerful and fairly recent device - I think you'd need to pass on the device specs to Esri support to see if they can check them against the full list of requirements they've specified.

I believe the developer sets the requirements that a device must meet to use their app, then Google checks the developer requirements vs. the devices registered to a user to decide if they can install an app or not. Android 6 should be fine with Collector, but it could be that the specific Huawei device you're using doesn't meet some other requirement. Which Huawei is it?

Very belated answer to my own question as I finally have lengths working! Used this custom attribute expression to display line lengths in a pop-up: var total_length = 0.0;
for (var i in Geometry($feature).paths[0]) {
if (i != 0) {
var x = Geometry($feature).paths[0].x;
var y = Geometry($feature).paths[0].y;
var prev_x = Geometry($feature).paths[0][i - 1].x;
var prev_y = Geometry($feature).paths[0][i - 1].y;
total_length = total_length + (sqrt(pow(x - prev_x, 2) + pow(y - prev_y, 2)));
}
}
return total_length;

I've seen this happen when not at 100% zoom in Chrome - here's a couple of related threads: Whitelines in basemap arcgis online? https://community.esri.com/thread/101373

Are the (Android?) devices having problems the ones that have updated to Collector 17.0.3 which was released on October 18th? This seems to be the case here. I think all our field users are on an older version (10.4?) of Collector to mitigate other changes which have happened in the past and changed things that aren't compatible with how they work so this hasn't affected them yet.

Yep, Chrome shows the site as secure and doesn't give any warnings - but when I dig in to the developer tools to get the certificate details it says we're using an obsolete cipher. Could that be the issue?

I understand that SSL requirements have changed? Is there a summary of these changes anywhere? I get a "The server you are trying to connect to cannot be verified" message and no features that we're hosting (all the features we're using) will load. Chrome doesn't seem to have any problems with the certificate on the server and that's usually the first to complain.

I believe geocoding 10,000,000 addresses would cost 400,000 ArcGIS Online service credits - this is most likely a number of credits you don't want to buy!

Collector has no concept of 'matching fields' (unfortunately), you can only copy attributes when you're creating a feature based on one in the same layer.

It can take a very long time if you're working on a large area. If you use the File - Share As - Tile Package method it will also only use a single core of your machine. The tools in the Tile Cache toolbox can be more confusing but they are able to use more than one core.

These dates and times are recorded in UTC - I believe you may be able to publish your data to AGOL through Desktop with time enabled to specify a different timezone but I'm not sure. We published in the 'normal' way and experienced some confusion around this in summer in the UK because our clocks go to GMT+1, so we're doing something at 5pm and AGOL says we did it at 4pm.
