We were thankful when we realised you got the link and not the full attachment when you synced, but in some cases it would be nice to have an option to get the actual photos (maybe you're in an environment where you have to be in "airplane mode" but you need to view attachments) for an area.

Maybe the confusion is coming from Android - it will often call internal phone storage "SD card" and your actual SD card "external SD card", or something similar. Tile packages must be put into the "ArcGIS_Collector" folder and this folder will be on your internal storage, this folder isn't on your actual SD card and Collector will not look on your actual SD card for tile packages. If it does work for Adam then I guess he has a very weird setup or he's done the (currently) impossible?

As far as I know, the scale you can go to is dependent on the scales available in the basemap you're using. If you copy a tile package to your device for offline use which has images inside for 1:1,000,000 scale, you'll only be able to use the map at 1:1,000,000. If the tile package has multiple scales, you'll be able to zoom in and out to those scales. If you choose an online basemap to take offline, then you need to choose the level of detail after you choose the work area. Then I think you won't be able to zoom in past your chosen level of detail.

It does work in offline mode, unofficially - this is useful but be careful if you start relying on this as it could be 'fixed' and stop working!

I think with 1 you have only really have one option - try taking the whole state offline? Depending on the size of the data and your connection this could be feasible, not feasible (e.g. take ages) or you'll get some errors. Better control of offline mode - multiple areas, different shapes, bookmarks, etc - is a great suggestion.

They would be very, very useful. We have some ugly replications happening to translate all our annotation in to polygons which Collector can display. If you publish a layer that has labels enabled from Desktop in to an AGOL hosted feature layer, add this to a web map, take the web map offline in Collector, then open the web map you'll see labels. Obviously not something to rely on, but a handy bug that shows Collector 'supports' labels.

Hi all, what versions of things (Collector, Server, etc) do I need to get editor tracking working in offline mode in Collector? I would like to be able to track who last edited a feature and when they made the edit. I've seen this work using AGOL-hosted features, but had no chance to try it with on-premise features so far.

Turns out that the publishing process is stopping when the size of the tiles reaches the size of the .tpk file uploaded to AGOL (927MB) - this has to be a bug?

Hi, is there a size limit for publishing tile packages previously uploaded (via the 'Share package' geoprocessing tool) to AGOL? My progress has stopped at "Tiles - 58.36% of the tiles are available" and clicking 'manage' to get more details gives me.. Total: - 875,355 published tiles - 1,500,002 total tiles - 58.36% published - 927.42MB storage used .. selecting one of the incomplete scales and selecting 'publish tiles' changes the status to say "Tile publishing in progress...", AGOL thinks about it for a while, then it goes back to saying "Current Status" without actually publishing any more tiles.

I haven't seen anything for a while, currently only internal storage is supported officially. You could work around it by mounting your SD card and setting a symlink.. https://community.esri.com/message/453313#453313 .. but obviously this is unsupported by Esri.

Instances of ".upper ==" should be changed to ".upper() ==" - you need to call the upper method that belongs to the string.

Collector's pretty good if you're using it in the way it was designed, outside of that you might quickly run in to barriers. It is *very* off the shelf (it has 3 options in the settings menu). Also worth noting that Collector doesn't support snapping. But, as you say, a custom app would take a lot of time which you might not have so Collector might be just enough to convince you to work around its problems.
