Yes, dynamic typing versus static typing is an old argument starting since LISP, and it's still an argument. Here is a good discussion brought up by Douglas Crockford: https://plus.google.com/118095276221607585885/posts/MgzNUSTwjRt In my opinion, I think it's really a personal preference, and I want to write and maintain real javascript code directly so that I have control over everything. That doesn't mean I refuse the help of tools such as JQUERY or DOJO. Translating from another "language" is not my favorite option even though the result seems not unreadable. Intellisense might be a big plus for many people. Again, it's a personal reference. It's a nice to have feature, especially for programmers whose primary language is not JavaScript.

Dynamic typing is one of the core concepts of JavaScript, which is powerful. Which one is better is arguable. But since JavaScript has dynamic typing nature, I'm not sure if adding a typescript upon it makes a lot of sense. I haven't compared the performance of typescript. But JavaScript normally has the reputation of "SLOW", you may not want to sacrifice more just for type safe. Once you get used to dynamic typing, you will find it's a very flexible and interesting feature.

This is not a new feature at 3.5. It was introduced at 3.4. The only reason that I suggested to use 3.5 is to make sure your environment is the same as the sample, so that we can narrow down the issue. If you are using 3.4 hosted by Esri, instead of your local hosted one, and you can still reproduce the issue, that would be very strange. Maybe you want to post a simplified reproducible code snippet?

Luci, templates is an array, instead of a function. So that it cannot add () along with it. You can use for loop to loop through the array. For example: var i; for (i = 0; i < this.templates.length; i++) { this.templates.layoutOptions.titleText = printTitlep; }

Replacing the webmap ID on the sample should work. Make sure you have used the correct path for importing the css: <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/layout.css">

That should be the default behavior. I'm not sure why your app doesn't show it. Try 3.5 JavaScript API.

No, you don't have to set alwaysUseProxy as true. It's not recommended unless it's necessary. For example, if the services and the image output folders are behind fire wall or other security settings, and you put the credentials in the proxy. For that case, proxy is always necessary.

You can set the feature service editing capabilities as create only. Then, attachmentEditor would not allow to delete. If this doesn't work for your case, you can try this code right after startup() function call. attachmentEditor._deleteBtnHtml = "";

I agree it's a bug, though it's a very edge case. Could you please let us know why you want to click right mouse button in the middle of drawing? Maybe we can come up with a solution.

The logic looks right. Some things to look at: 1. The syntax of setInterval function: http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/met_win_setinterval.asp 2. Make sure you understand the variable scope in JavaScript: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/500431/javascript-variable-scope In your code, you cannot access those layers which you created in another function, because they are the local variables. You can either set them as global variables, (normally, you should avoid doing so), or pass it as an argument.
