We have been building a mobile editing app using a web map and hosted feature services in ArcGIS Online. In the last 2 weeks we have noticed sometimes one or more of the hosted feature services not loading. The problem seems intermittent. To date the app has performed well, and this has not been an issue. We wondered; is there an issue with ArcGIS Online causing this problem? Thanks -Matt

Thanks Yann. Hope Adobe update the player in the near future to fix this issue. Avoiding finger pinches is a way around the problem. The crash is more rare with a single finger double tap (zoom in) and simultaneous double finger tap (zoom out). --Matt

We are seeing an issue on mobiles with fast zooms crashing the app. See the following example: http://webmapsolutions.com/demos/iPadMobileCrash/iPadMobileCrash.html We thought it might have something to do with dropshadows so we put in place: (layer as FeatureLayer).filters = [new spark.filters.DropShadowFilter(1,90,0xffffff)]; (layer as FeatureLayer).filters = [new flash.filters.DropShadowFilter(1,90,0xffffff)]; But no joy. This may have something to do with the underlying technology, but we wondered if there might be any work arounds to get past this problem? Thanks --Matt

Thanks for the feedback Sarthak. Looks good just one thing left - see the video below - with the switch back to non edit mode: http://www.webmapsolutions.com/demos/AttributeInspIssue2/AttributeInspIssue2.html using this code: //Deactivate the editor
else
{
Model.instance.map.infoWindowRenderersEnabled = true;
//Model.instance.map.infoWindow.hide();
ModelEdit.instance.editor.templatePicker.clearSelection();
ModelEdit.instance.editor.featureLayers = null;
ModelEdit.instance.editor.map = null;
ModelEdit.instance.editor.drawTool.deactivate();
ModelEdit.instance.editor.editTool.deactivate();
} Thanks again --Matt

Flex modules are not supported in Flex Mobile. This article ports the viewer to the desktop; the section which states: "The next step is to add all the modules to the project. Go to Project - Properties and then in the ArcGISFlexDesktop Properties dialog select Flex Modules and add the following mandatory widgets .... " is where you will fail when you try to set this up for use on iOS/Android in a Flex Mobile Project. --Rory

We have an issue when switching between edit and non edit modes in Flex Mobile. We would like the same seamless functionality we see using the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/live/index.html?config=apps/config-edit.xml We are seeing problems with the attribute inspector when we switch into edit mode, as shown in the video below: http://webmapsolutions.com/demos/attinspectorIssue/attinspectorIssue.html Wondered if you might be able to shed any light on what might be causing these issues. Thanks --Matt

We have had a number of recent client requests wondering about backend integration with ArcGIS Online. An example is below: "How do we tie data in a hosted feature service to our business-financial database, where we track the cost of maintaining the assets or responding to the events for which information is collected in the field" We have also had requests on SAP integration. Are there docs or discussions on AGOL backend integration with other business systems? Thanks --Matt

I'm having a bit of a brain fart. I am updating an attribute inspector with current lat/long using the following code:
for each(var updateatts:* in (list.dataProvider as ArrayList).source)
{
if((updateatts as FormField).label == "Longitude")
{
(updateatts as FormField).feature.attributes["Longitude"] = 1.0;
dispatchEvent(new AttributeInspectorEvent(UPDATE_FEATURE, false, (updateatts as FormField).featureLayer, (updateatts as
FormField).feature));
}
} I'd like the form (see attached) to dynamically updated with this new data. Any good suggestions? I should add when we close the attribute inspector, then reopen the data is updated. I'd like the update to occur without the need to close the inspector window. Thanks --Rory

We are an Esri partner talking to a number of local govt entities about this app, we are trying to put an AGOL demo together any chance we could get a version of 10.2 (i'm thinking this might fix the remaining issue we are experiencing): http://webmapsolutions.com/LocalGovt/ParksFinder/default.htm Thanks --Matt

We are serializing offline feature attachments which we push to the server once back online. We have noticed intermittent fault events from the server when we push the attachment using addAttachment. This seems most often to happen with new features. Our workflow for new features is applyedits for each new feature. Once we have received a successful response from the server, we then process the new feature attachments. We see the following fault info: faultCode: 405 faultDetail: Unable to add attachment to the feature. faultString: Invalid attachment parent Wondered what might be causing this problem? Thanks --Matt

In our mobile app we are allowing users to edit features while offline, then when back online to applyedits and push the updates to the server. We are having trouble having the changes updated in the viewer, only a layer refresh will show the feature updates. We have tried the following without success:
/**
* When we get a response from server that update was successful
* Query the feature layer and select the updated feature
*/
private function updateEditsCompleteHdlr(e:FeatureLayerEvent):void
{
var editQuery:Query = new Query();
editQuery.objectIds = [(e.featureEditResults.updateResults[0] as com.esri.ags.layers.supportClasses.FeatureEditResult).objectId]
e.featureLayer.selectFeatures(editQuery, FeatureLayer.SELECTION_ADD, new AsyncResponder(selectFeaturesHandler, selectFeaturesFault));
}
/**
* Refresh the updated feature so the changes are reflected
*/
private function selectFeaturesHandler(featureSet:Array, token:Object = null):void
{
//Refresh the selected feature
featureSet[0].refresh();
}
Any thoughts on how we might get the feature itself to update? Thanks --Matt

For those interested, Esri talk much about collaboration as a key benefit of ArcGIS Online We've put together a demo which shows an example of how mobile, Web and desktop technologies can be used in a complimentary/collaborative way with ArcGIS Online. The mobile and Web portions of the demo use the Flex API: http://www.webmapsolutions.com/mobile-desktop-web-collaboration-arcgis-online --Matt
