Are they dynamic because the content of the label changes or dynamic because they turn on and off at different scales? A couple of ideas: Is it a map reference scale you are looking for? That's where the software fixes the size of symbols and text to the desired height and width at that scale. "annotations via a service" - You can only share annotation features as a service if you have ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6 or higher. That is new functionality. Are you currently using that version? You can also create label classes that turn on and off at different scales, then publish that feature service. If you create a feature-linked annotation then when an attribute of your original data is changed, the linked annotation gets updated too. Is that what you are looking for? When the tool you mentioned above opens, make sure you check the box at the bottom for Create feature-linked annotation. You might start looking at using Arcade to create some dynamic expressions across the platform. If any of these ideas are close, let me know and I can elaborate and help you out.

Technically, this is only for creating new features, not existing ones like you asked. That would require a GP tool to find the correct location on the perimeter of the polygon, then draw the point. Can the point be in the center of the polygon? There is a tool called Feature to Point that will create points in the geometric center of all of your polygons and the new points will have the same attributes of the polygons. Regarding the group feature templates above: you can actually do a mixture of any geometry. Originally, the data in the picture is meant to draw a water meter (point) at the end of every water lateral I draw (line). Otherwise, that would be two separate operations. First draw the water lateral, then draw the meter. The group template creates the meter as soon as I finish drawing my lateral.

Are those points at the starting vertex of the polygon? You could use a group feature template to automatically create a point at the starting vertex of a polygon. After you set it up and draw a polygon it automatically puts a point from a different feature class at the very first vertex. In the picture below, I have two feature templates for my Field Notes layer, one to draw a regular polygon and one to draw a polygon, but also automatically put a blue meter (M) at the starting vertex. Follow the link above for instructions to create it.

The base map you are trying to export, is that the ArcGIS Online basemap or is it composed of your own point, line and polygon data? The basemaps that come from ArcGIS Online (Imagery, Streets, Topographic, Dark Gray Canvas...) are available to be used as reference/background for your maps and are stored online as tiles for quick rendering. If you have other data in your map, Rhino may be able to read it without conversion. In ArcGIS, shapefiles and geodatabase feature classes and the most common type of data used (both are considered vector data) but many can be read. If you want to use the Export to CAD tool, then make sure you have some input data for the tool and not just the basemap from ArcGIS Online.

I recommend trying to open the DGN in ArcGIS Pro, our new 64-bit desktop application that is a combination of ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcScene & ArcGlobe. There are many help topics related to using CAD data in ArcGIS Pro (both Bentley and AutoDesk). ArcGIS Pro is included in your ArcGIS Desktop license, so you can download it from MyEsri if you are current on your maintenance. If you don't have it, you can download a free trial. Here's the abbreviated workflow: Create a project Insert a local scene Connect to folder storing your data, then drag & drop the DGN on to your map If it doesn't draw correctly, check to see if it's a Supported Microstation element If it draws in the wrong location, you might need to georeference your CAD data If it does draw correctly, you can convert it to a 3D multipatch feature stored in a geodatabase. You could even take it one step further and share your 3D scene to ArcGIS Online to have an online 3D web scene.

Something simple to try: the LiDAR data may be appearing in a place you didn't expect it. Try to right-click on your new lasd layer in the Contents Pane and choose Zoom To Layer.

Just a couple of questions to help us figure it out. Where did those shapefiles come from? Were either of them georeferenced and converted from CAD or transformed from another coordinate system?

This has also happened to me a few times in the last week. I created a task and used it, then when I opened the project there was the red exclamation point. Like Gert, I recommend exporting the task to a .esritasks file, as a backup, until this get fixed.

A colleague experienced that exact same behavior. I tried to duplicate the error using ArcGIS Pro 2.2, but the append works as expected, only appending the selected features. I recommend updating to the latest version and trying the append again.

Dr. Arundel, To explore in 3D with the mouse wheel, press down on the wheel (click) and move the mouse around. You can also use keyboard shortcuts like: v + arrow keys: to rotate around center b + arrow keys: to look around arrow keys to nudge press and hold q and move the mouse to roam They only work when viewing a 3D scene and make sure you have the Explore tool chosen to take advantage of these keyboard shortcuts.

It's actually rather simple. To create a new toolbox, right-click on "Toolboxes". If you want to create a new geodatabase, right-click on "Databases".

Tripp, Some of that is expected behavior. When you add 2D data to a 3D scene, it will not be displayed until it is moved under the "3D Layers" section and an elevation has been set. You have to set an elevation source for each 3D dataset so ArcGIS Pro knows where it will start drawing the dataset (on the ground, relative to the ground, on a custom elevation surface, relative to a custom elevation surface, or at an absolute height). You will have added your DEM as an elevation surface from the 3D map properties. When you add your local DEM as an elevation source, you can remove the default (you only need one). Expand "Ground" and click the red X to clear it out. The color of the elevation surface you add doesn't matter, it's only using the elevation values. Check out the online Help Documentation for information about setting elevation surfaces. Pro.ArcGIS.com > Map Properties > Elevation Surfaces

It looks awesome! but I've only been able to get the geofilters to work once. Is the geofence very restricted? I've examined every related setting on my iPhone 6 to get it to work. Any suggestions?
