ok thank you, but as I said in the post, I just have the featureClass names, not the path with the dataset. Of course, if I did have the complete path, I could use pathlib or os.path to retreive the dataset from it.

I agree with this idea. To me, the problem is even larger because the whole python API is full of inconsistencies between methods or object property names. Even the the new cim is awfully conceived.

Thank you for your answer! If I have no choice but to loop over datasets, this is how I do: import os, arcpy
workspace = "path/to/geodabase.gdb"
arcpy.env.workspace = workspace
datasets = arcpy.ListDatasets()
fc_list = ["fc_1_name", "fc_2_name", "fc_3_name"]
for fc in fc_list:
dataset = next((dataset for dataset in datasets if arcpy.Exists(os.path.join(workspace, dataset, fc)), None)
print(dataset, fc)

Hi, I have a list of geodatabase feature class names and I would like to have the dataset names for each if any. Ideally I would prefer not to loop over each element of the geodatabase to find it. I was hoping arcpy.Describe would contain that information, but no. import os, arcpy
workspace = "path/to/geodatabase.gdb"
fc_list = ["fc_1_name", "fc_2_name", "fc_3_name"]
for fc in fc_list:
desc = arcpy.Describe(os.path.join(workspace, fc))
print(desc.catalogPath) #does not includes dataset if any Any suggestion would be appreciated! Thanks

I found out that only attributes that are specifically requested will included in the vector tile pack. If your lines or polygons include labels, then the label field would be there. Attributes that are configured as "highlighted" in the field configuration in Pro will also be included.

Hello, I have created a vtpk with the Create Vector Tile Package (Data Management) in ArcGIS Pro 2.9.1. When I import the .vtpk in my map, there is no info-window that opens when I click on a feature. Is it normal? I thought that vtpk includes the data as well as the geometry. Thanks

I found out my error. I had to select the map instead of the raster in the Input Data Source parameter in order to make the tool take the transparency in account. Thank you for your help!

@George_Thompson I have made more tests since I posted and both MIXED and PNG32 are not working. Perhaps the tool does not works when the transparency is in a 4th band instead of using a nodata value as a transparent background in the raster symbology?

Hi, I want to use the Manage Tile Cache geoprocessing with ArcGIS Pro 2.9 to create a local cache of a ecw raster imagery. The image has four 8bits bands (rgba) the 4th band stores the transparency (0 or 255). I have created a tiling scheme file that use the MIXED format in CompactV2 structure. The geoprocessing is working without any problem but the cache does not have transparency at all. Should I try with another format like PNG32? Any other suggestions? Thank you for your help.

Hi @KathleenCSki Thank you for your suggestion. I know there is workarounds for this issue. Making a copy of the feature class without the relation class is probably the best as you suggest. However we are using scripting for publishing services in an automatic and scheduled way in order to keep services up to date. Adding the need to make a copy of each such feature class is not optimal. I still think there should be an option to opt out the copy of uneeded related data at the publishing stage.

Hello, I am now using Enterprise 10.9.1 with Pro 2.9.14. I have noticed a change with the previous version I used, Enterprise 10.6.1 with Pro 2.7, when data are copied to the server when publishing a MapImageServer. Since the upgrade, it seems all the related data to any layer in an aprx is also copied to the server even if they are not included in the map. In my situation, this is not a good thing because a particular layer is related to 6 other feature classes that have attachments enabled, resulting in 3.6 GB being copied to the server instead of 80 MB before. Moreover, this layer is used in many other MapImageLayer so the unwanted attachments are duplicated on the server many times for nothing. It would be really interesting to have the option to exclude unwanted related data when publishing a MapImageServer. Thank you

Is there a way to prevent Pro from copying the unwanted related data when publishing? Thank you P.S.: I am also using script for the publication, so if there is a possibility by editing the sddraft I am ok with it.

Thanks for the reply! I just want to mention that Pro 2.9.14 was released 2 weeks ago (21 novembre 2024) and the bug is still there.
