Hi Saroj, You can check the following steps to append data from Excel sheet to feature class: 1. In ArcMAP, Add data > Browse to the excel sheet > Add the excel in the ArcMap. 2. Right click on the excel from table of content > Display XY data > An "event layer" will be created. 3. Geoprocessing > ArcToolbox > Data Management toolbox > General > Append 4. Input Dataset : Event layer that created in step 2. 5. Target Dataset : Feature class that you want to append 6. Schema Type : No_Test 7. Field map : Right click on the fields and map it to the excel fields. 8. OK Here are some links that you can follow- Append: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/desktop/latest/tools/data-management-toolbox/append.htm Understanding how to use Microsoft Excel files in ArcGIS: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/desktop/latest/manage-data/tables/understanding-how-to-use-microsoft-excel-files-in-arcgis.htm Thanks, Biraja

As per article, query is as per below: SELECT OWNER, NAME, TYPE FROM DBA_DEPENDENCIES WHERE REFERENCED_OWNER='MDSYS' AND REFERENCED_NA ME = 'ST_GEOMETRY' AND REFERENCED_TYPE = 'TYPE' AND TYPE='TABLE'; Please run the above query as it is using "sys" login. This may help. Thanks, Biraja

Hi Randy, When you upgrade geodatabase and sqlserver, views are created in 10.2.2 will be intact. No need to recreate those views. Mxd will have same view and joins/relates remain same with those existing views. Thanks, Biraja

Hi Joseph, Have you checked "versioned view" option to get all edits from A and D table. This may help. Regarding identify tool in query layer, that should work. Please contact ESRI support to look into it at your end to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks, Biraja

Hi APA, As you can not rename geodatabase name to access by SDE, hence I suggested to create another sqlserver instance and create same name geodatabase in UAT. So basically UAT will have 2 separate sqlserver instance and one has UAT instance and another will have production copy geodatabase. Thanks, Biraja

This looks like known issue. BUG-000093032 : ‘Create Role’ tool fails with ‘Error Creating Role’ error for SQL Server geodatabases at 10.4 NIM102049: Unable to revoke database roles from SQL Server 2012 users using the Create Role geoprocessing tool or arcpy.CreateRole_management. What is the ArcGIS Desktop Version you are using.

Hi APA, In that case, create a new sqlserver instance in UAT and restore backup from production or copy data using sqlserver tools. Thanks, Biraja

Hi APA, Can you please elaborate the requirement. When you say refresh data from production to UAT, do you mean update everyday edits from production to UAT. If that is the requirement then Jake already provided solution using Geodatabase Replication. Thanks, Biraja

After closing/stopping all client application accessing geodatabase, if you still find connections are present in process_information table of sde schema then those are orphan connections. You can just truncate the table to clear it. If you find these orphan connections very often then you need to monitor your ArcGIS workflow or any network drop. - Biraja

You can take a look at the following procedure which generally we follow on testing environment: 1. Drop all user except sde with cascade option 2. Drop sde user with cascade option 3. Recreate all users including sde 4. Grant required permission 5. Reload the data by imp or impdp - import sde schema 6. Import remaining schema. Hope this helps. - Biraja

It is difficult to say what is happening at your end during edit. You can log a support call to analyze the issue better. Few suggestion you can try: 1. Save edits and come out of ArcMAP or any other client accessing and editing data. 2. Make sure no orphan connection or orphan locks 3. Compress the geodatabase to state_id 0 4. start edit again Please note that suggested version editing workflow is to create child version of default as QC/QA version and from QA version create editor versions to edit. This will help you avoid any data loss as you mentioned and also have better management of data quality. This is just a suggestion.

Hi Link, How and what you are updating programmatically. If the feature class are not registered with version, you are good to go by just removing user and locks. If the feature class is registered as version, then you need to consider version view or compress geodatabase to state_id 0 before updating. Thanks, Biraja

Another question is to understand your overall requirement so that we can suggest if there is any better approach to it. Please explain your holistic requirement and will go from there.
