Yea, unfortunately the placement of the actual TASK pane is by default docked on the left side and it can be overlapped by other panes. We have made undocking the Task Pane and even the Designer pane a best practice for proper usage of Tasks. I'm not sure of custom configuration of re-skinning the application right now. As per Kory Kramers link to an idea, that is another feature entirely that has been requested that we have thought about. Being able to format the views to a certain layout/docking order.

A way to maintain the measured unit for the breakline is to check the box "Proportion with remaining distance". The standard breakline will take a measured distance along the line which, based on spatial reference, misclose on parcel, might not measure exactly to 25ft if you draw a line. If you check that box and enter in the length of all the line segments you should be able to maintain the proper measurements:

Great question. Currently we are looking into a solution for this problem as the Task Pane takes focus away from the active view causing issues with Copy and Paste. At the moment the only work around is to instruct the user to manually right click + copy and right click + paste.

For a single parcel there should only be one area where Origin Connection lines exist. You can have multiple Origin Connection lines that follow a linear path to the POB, but elsewhere in the parcel there should be no other Origin Connection Lines. All other tie lines should be Connection lines. Here are a couple links that might be helpful to better answer your questions: ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) , ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2)

The best approach to entering a mutli-part parcel with an origin connection is as follows: New Parcel Start with the Origin Connection to the point of beginning (POB) From the POB continue to COGO your parcel When it's time to move to the other portion of the parcel, create a Part Connector line that spans across the road. (This is Category value 7 in the Category field) Finish COGO'ing your other portion of the subdivision. If you have already created the multipart and merged the parcel and want to re-add the Origin Connection: Open the Parcel Create the origin connection line (it will be going the wrong direction for now) For each segment of the Origin Connection, switch the To and From points; For example if the line was FROM 5 TO 13 change it to the following: FROM 13 to 5. Lastly, for each segment (individually, this wont work as a batch), select the row and choose REVERSE BEARING from the context menu. To answer your other questions: Yes, missing the origin connection lines can affect the LSA if it is not included in the adjustment. If you were to select the original historic parcel then you would be fine. You alternative solution can work but you won't get the benefit of having a single parcel for the multipart.

You can set up a domain on the Geodatabase to match your custom types and assign that Domain to the Type field of Lines. From there you can then Symbolize the Lines Fabric sublayer to the Type field and then it will be represented in the map. If you are looking to import this from source data you can add a field to the Fabric prior to the import and name it the exact same name as your "representation" field on your source data and also make sure the new field is the same type as your "representation" field. Once you import the data all your data will be carried across. If you have further questions or if you want more information on how to preform these steps I have listed please let me know. You can also email me: jcamerano@esri.com for a faster response.

Both workflows seem to have the same results so it would be basically up to you which one you want to choose. I was a little thrown off with the word "linestring" because that is a separate tool. I assume you are referring to the Segmented Line Tool correct? Using the Segmented Line Tool will just create 4 proportionally equal segments on the line. If you want a more precise break-point I would recommend using the Breakline tool. Otherwise, the Segmented Line Tool works fine.

Maybe a backup of the GDB might work. What are you running on? SQL Server? Here are the instructions to load files on to our FTP site if you want to use that. However, this site isn't secure so if there is anything sensitive I wouldn't recommend loading it: External users who need to FTP a file to Esri should be instructed to login to ftp://ftp.esri.com/ as " anonymous " using their e-mail address as the password and to navigate to the /pub/incoming directory. They can then put files in that directory. The file will be deleted in 2 business days.

You can have multiple annotation layers. Right click on the parcel sublayer of the fabric and click Convert Labels to Annotation. I believe that is what you are asking, correct?

If you set the accuracy on the parcel each line will inherit that accuracy level if left blank. So in other words, you do not have to set the accuracy of the lines if you want them to be the same as the parcel's accuracy. If you want to change the accuracy of a given line to make it higher or lower than that of the parcel, you will have to manually set that. Also, if you are digitizing the line, the accuracy will get automatically set to 6. On a similar note, if you do not set the accuracy of the parcel the parcel will inherit the accuracy from the plan, as will the lines. This is useful when doing a construction since the Properties tab isn't available. You can leave the lines accuracy blank if you want each line to inherit the same accuracy as the plan.
