If I am not mistaken, 1=1 means for all records. From the File Geodatabase, not much you can get and theres no Query returned, straight away a token. I thought of creating a subtype, but the thing is it is not our data and it is very dynamic. It seems File Geodatabase was able to handle 370k records faster than ArcSDE Geodatabase for the Group Filter Widget. Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Michael, Below is a snapshot of the Network Activity from my browser ( chrome ) dev tools. Take some time at validating.gif. When it stops, it does not return anything and generateRenderer ... turns to red colored text.

Group Filter Widget ( group filter widget ) for Web Appbuilder ( AGOL ) File Geodatabase VS ArcSDE Geodatabase ( Oracle ). I have issues using Group Filter Widget with ArcSDE Geodatabase. I have about 370,000 records. I am trying to filter a Field ( String ) using Field as Value. It just process and eventually stopped but no list. But with a File Geodatabase, no issues. Is there anything I must do on the ArcSDE Geodatabase side ? Thank you.

Hi Dan, Perhaps, Pro can have the same detailed error message ( stating the Oracle number error etc ) as that of ArcMaps...As it is now, Pro's message was only " ... invalid SQL expression .. ". Just a suggestion.

ArcGIS Pro 1.4 DB: Oracle 11g Run Select Layer by Attribute on a Date Field ( is NOT NULL or is NULL) even successfully validating. Error , ERROR 000358: Invalid expression Failed to execute (SelectLayerByAttribute). selectlayerbyattribute Sorry, cant delete this post. pls ignore this as i tried the same in ArcMap and it throws some Oracle error. The problem is this data is not ours. we can not work on it. a copy of this in our own database is fine both for ArcPro and Arcmap.

Hi Dan, I am also using Concurrent Use License ( Advanced - Version 1.4.0.7198 ). I am connected/signed with our Portal ( 10.5 ) as Administrator. Does Certificates maybe an issue ? This from time to time keeps on popping out, although you have installed successfully it still persists. Does it need a Domain certificate then ? Haven't gotten one : Thanks

Thanks Dan for your reply. Sorry my earlier question was not clear. I have done that and it was pretty straightforward but I am getting an error downloading the update. Perhaps the fact that I have not connected my organization in My Esri is the reason why I am getting error downloading the update from with Pro. Could be some Domain Policy in our network that is preventing Pro. Did try to look for any proxy settings similar to ArcCatalogue. So I thought of offline update, i.e. by downloading standalone patch file. Anyway, I just recently send a request for such. Does that I mean that goes for the patch file too ? .. I mean for me to have access to the patch file , I have to have My Esri connected to an organization ? Thanks.

Hi Rob, I am having issues updating/patching my ArcGIS Pro 1.4 to 1.4.1. Could be some policy in our system or something else that is preventing ArcGIS Pro Update from within the software. So I thought of downloading instead the patch file instead. Is there a patch file similar to ArcGIS Desktops that we can run to install the patch. Been looking for that I somehow I can not seem to find it 😞 ..should be pretty straight forward. Doing a search in ESRIs Support page ( arcgis-pro , anytime ) , yield nothing ( http://support.esri.com/Search-Results#search?q=arcgis-pro&content-type=Patches and Updates ) Thanks Rob.

I have created apps using WAB 2.1 with my Portal for AGS 10.3. Recently we have acquired a new server where we have installed Portal for AGS 10.5 along with WAB 2.2. Now I want those apps I have created in WAB 2.1 to be imported to WAB 2.2. It was not that simple as i thought as the apps are "attached" with the username of the Portal for AGS. This I found by downloading the app in WAB 2.1. I tried importing the zipped file created in 2.2 and I'm getting a message, " Failed to import the app. This app can only be imported by users of portal: < my old portal > " Copying the content of my app from AGS 10.3 to AGS 10.5 was breeze using ArcGIS Online Assistant ( ArcGIS Online Assistant ). Anything that I miss ? Otherwise, I will have to do all the customization I did in WAB 2.1, which I dont like 🙂

Robert, Actually, not really to use the app that I have developed but to develop their own app using WAB. Thats why I have to keep WAB service up and running during my vacation. I have registered and shared it to our Portal. I have deployed all the apps I have done to our web server successfully. And incidentally, I think 80% percent of the widgets I use are widgets that you have developed. These are basic and essentials for a simple Web Mapping apps. Even a none developer like me, I am basically a GIS guy, I came up with a very useful Web Mapping app . Thanks to you Robert 🙂 Have a nice day ..

Thanks Robert. I did read in the documentation about this but I never thought the advantage of having it as a windows service. Actually, the main reason I asked is because I am going for vacation and since WAB was installed in my PC, WAB has to be up and running always. Even if I keep it ON before leaving for vacation, sometimes all our PC are forcefully restarted remotely by our Sys Adm from some updates. In this case, I have to provide them my password from them to start the batch file , which I dont like 🙂 .. That's why the idea of installing it in other machines came. Now, since it is a windows service, they just have to make sure my PC is on, WAB is working fine for my colleagues to use. No need for mulitple installation 🙂

Thank you Rebecca for sharing your valuable observations. I will try to look into it. Perhaps, I can try to install it another ordinary machine ( not AGS or Portal servers ) and see how it behaves.

Thanks Baba for your reply. Actually, I have no issues in deploying my application in a webserver ( IIS ). I have a couple of apps developed from my machine where the WAB was installed and deployed in our webserver ( another machine ) already up and running using that link you gave as my guide. Just that, my Boss wants the WAB Developer Ed to be installed in another machine/server wherein the startup batch file can be always left running. I have doubts if it is possible without any complications with the new installation because of the appids attached to the initial installation.

I have installed WAB successfully in my PC. I am not aware of the technology behind then, i.e. you need to run a batch file every time you start using WAB. ( read this can be converted into a windows service ) Anyways, everything is okay. I was able to create an WAB application and deployed in our web server successfully. Now, my Boss wants the WAB service installed in one of our servers , either in our server with Portal or the server in ArcGIS for server. I do not want to proceed lest it might mess up either of the servers. Question is , Is it okay or even possible to have multiple installation of WAB Developer Edition ( question about appid crosses my mind ) ? Appreciate any inputs. Many thanks.
