Early next week, we will be announcing the release of 100.2.0, also known as Update 2, for you to download. We're very excited about this release for a number of reasons. 100.2 is the culmination of what we envisioned the Quartz 100 Runtime platform to be. It also brings us closer to functional parity with the 10.2.x versions of Runtime. Here are some highlights to look forward to: Display and identify WMS layers Display and identify ENC layers (Electronic Navigational Charts) Read and edit shapefiles Read rasters from GeoPackage Read and edit vector data from GeoPackage Support for multi-layered symbology Analysis - viewshed and line of sight on the GPU Statistical queries Improved support for geotransformations and custom geotransformations Offline mapping enhancements - Preplanned workflows A few additional tools: Compass and Coordinate Conversion tools A new topic that indicates which classes invoke which Runtime license level (extremely useful!) These are just a few. We'll be announcing the release very soon, so keep watch! As always, thank you for using ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt.

Hi Alex, Not sure I'm clear on the issue. The developer subscription is per user, not per machine. If you have a subscription, you are not limited to installing software to only one machine. You ARE limited to that user, you, being the only one to use that installation. So, if you install once for development, you can install on a different machine to test your development. Does that make sense? Maybe I misunderstood this issue.

You'll not actually access the ArcMap toolbox directly from within a Runtime application. You'll access a Geoprocessing package (GPK file), in your Runtime application using Runtime's Local Server. Local Server knows how to unpack the GPK and execute the tools to solve your geoprocessing task. This topic: Author and publish a geoprocessing model—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java | ArcGIS for Developers , explains the GPK file creation process. This topic: Run a geoprocessing task—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java | ArcGIS for Developers , explains how Local Server accesses the GPK and runs the tool or model to get a result. I hope this helps!

Hi Alex, Maybe you figured out the problem already, but just in case... You'll need to copy the Runtime dependent libraries to where your application's runnable jar file is. You can find more information about that here: Deploy your app—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java | ArcGIS for Developers for example, (if you've used the gradle plugin to get the SDK) in your home directory, there should be a .arcgis folder. In that folder, under the folder with the name of the version you are using, you'll find 'jniLibs' and 'resources' folders. These need to be copied over to the folder where your jar file resides. Hope this helps!

Hi Shiva, Sounds like you're on the right path. What does the error look like, exactly? FYI: At 100.2, you'll be able to use the MosaicDatasetRaster API to create mosaics and add rasters to them, without having to use the Local Server. The release is in a few weeks.

Hi Michel, ArcGIS Runtime SDK 100.2 for Java is going to release in mid December 2017, about 2 weeks away. Look for announcements in https://community.esri.com/community/developers/native-app-developers/arcgis-runtime-sdk-for-java?sr=search&searchId=cd63c01f-6c2b-4dd5-b439-db45b06abef5&searchIndex=2. In 2018, we're planning a few more significant releases. Dates still to be determined. Thanks!

Hi Jon, Are your OpenSSL libs in your path? You won't get a map to render if the application can't find those libs. Just wondering..

Greetings Jan! Even though you were not on Santa's naughty list, Steam Layers support unfortunately did not make it into his sack of toys. There were a lot of goodies that went into update 2, I wish this could have been one of them. I know this is extremely critical for many of you. It is a high priority. Stay tuned.

Hi Kevin, To speak for the ENC data support, our Update 2 release (mid December) will support the reading of native ENC data files. These can be visualized as layers in your map. I'll try to help with your questions: #1: You can create point objects with projected or non-projected real world coordinates and measure the distance between them using GeometryEngine. You don't need a layer to do this. #2: Yes. There are a few ways to persist these markers in their own layer. For one, you can use a Feature Service to persist, track, update waypoints as Point features in a feature service layer and symbolize these with whatever Marker symbols you need to use. This works great while connected to a network, but also if you want to go offline from a network, you can do the same workflow. The feature service is added to the map and the map can be stored in your Portal (on-prem or ArcGIS Online). When the app restarts, it reloads the Map, which contains your waypoints layer, for example. You can start reading more about working with feature services here: Features and graphics—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt | ArcGIS for Developers . And here: Editing—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt | ArcGIS for Developers Sorry for this clunky sort of answer, but I hope it helps as a starter. #3: As I mentioned, coming in Update 2 this December. #4: Yes, you should be able to extend MapView.
