I figure it might be worthwhile to have a response to this question documented. Q1) can someone guide me how to change existing portal map viewer and add more functions, tools + customize portal templates as requires to my company? ... How can I change the look and feel of portal map viewer? A1) Customization of the Portal map viewer is NOT supported. If you were to customize the Portal map viewer, this may cause issues when you attempt to upgrade your Portal instance to a later release. So while it is technically possible, we don't recommend that you do it, hence why there is no documentation for this. Q2) Is there any sample templates I can download ? and how can I configure portal to use those downloaded templates? A2) FYI, there are sample Web application templates - which are included with Portal for ArcGIS. Some additional questions: - What version of Esri Maps for Office are you using? - What version of MS Excel are you using (2010 or 2013)? - What Windows OS? - What version of IE are you using? - Would it be possible to get a Fiddler log when you attempt to share the data from Excel to Portal for ArcGIS? Hi there, I am not 100% clear on your workflow. What do you mean by the term "PFA"? Does PFA stand for "Portal for ArcGIS"? Are you trying to add custom widgets for Web AppBuilder embedded in Portal? If so, then be advised that enabling custom widgets within the embedded version of Web AppBuilder in Portal for ArcGIS is NOT a supported workflow. From the Web AppBuilder help documentation: About Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS The 3rd paragraph under key features states: “A developer edition is also available that allows you to extend the framework to create custom widgets and themes. Visit ArcGIS for Developers to download Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (Developer Edition) and learn more about creating your own custom apps.” While it is technically possible to enable custom widgets within the embedded version of Web AppBuilder in a Portal for ArcGIS instance, this may void the software license technical support contract because you would be altering the internal software files of Portal for ArcGIS.
