Hi all, looking for clarification on something. We have an Enterprise Level Developer Subscription as part of our EA. Since this includes ArcGIS Enterprise, I'd like to provision the licenses and deploy a new Development environment. Do I generate the licenses through MyEsri like usual or is there a mechanism to generate licenses specifically for our Dev subscription? If through MyEsri, is it best/common practice to tag or label the license as dev subscription?

Thanks @GeoJosh. In my case, clearing usage reports with number-only names did not resolve the issue. We are running 11.1 on windows with two ArcGIS Servers participating in our site. I used server admin to delete two usage reports with number-only names. I restarted Monitor and both ArcGIS Servers. No change after waiting 2 hours, ArcGIS Monitor was unable to discover our ArcGIS Server site. I decided to un-register the ArcGIS Server component and re-register it and it was immediately picked up. Is the work around you mentioned confirmed to work with a multi machine ArcGIS Server site?

Are these servers in the same subnet? Ie. all in your internal network or are one or more servers the DMZ. Wondering if there is firewall in place that would be blocking the following communication: Portal > Server A on 6443 Portal > Server B on 6443 Server A > Portal on 7443 Server B > Portal on 7443 Does dual server work if you omit web adaptors entirely? That may help your narrow down the issue. Otherwise, I would recommend an esri support ticket for this.

Trivial but try rebooting the ArcGIS Server windows service and the VM. Does https://localhost:6443/arcgis resolve?

Check if the Relational DataStore validates with your Hosting ArcGIS Server. If not, that's your smoking gun. I would start by rebooting the DataStore service. Server might need one too. I've seen odd behavior like this after Windows OS patching and rebooting the entire ArcGIS Enterprise stack fixed the issue.

That way we can offload SSL to F5, and should we ever need to swap servers, we can do so by simply changing what F5 points to for the web adaptor server. No problems at all running multiple web adaptors on a single server. Can you elaborate on this a little bit? So you have your 'Site/VIP' (enterprise.company.com) in F5 using a CA SSL certificate correct? Do you also configure SSL within IIS for each web adaptor using domain or CA certs? What about the portal/arcgis server machines? @MichaelJenkins

Awesome, appreciate the feedback @MichaelJenkins ! Now I can rest easy 😊 Yes, the goal would be to get our subdomains aligned with what you have: enterprise.company.com/*web-adaptor-name* Right now it's a big mess in F5 (which I have limited visibility into) with multiple VIPs, pools, iRules just for a standard deployment. I'm hoping we can get to state that pretty much emulates yours! I'm planning to deploy all this with the PowerShell DSC too, so moving things into our internal network should reduce the # of firewall rules I need to implement. Really, I just need to make sure the Web Adaptor host can communicate with the various AGE components on their designated ports right (7443, 6443, the usual)? Being on the internal network should alleviate some of the headaches with the internal communication between Portal, Servers, and Datastore. At least that's what my Friday night brain is thinking.

I have to opportunity to re-design our ArcGIS Enterprise deployment and could use a sanity check. Current state: ArcGIS Enterprise on 11.1, Windows, on prem, no web adaptors, F5 for load balancer, Portal and ArcGIS Server in DMZ (for field work use without VPN), other components in internal network Future state: ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 windows on prem (no change), new host in DMZ with multiple web adaptors installed, F5 in front of web adaptor host (IT requirement), all AGE components moved to internal network What I think this should achieve is the ability to still connect to Portal off VPN; traffic would route to F5 > Web Adaptor host > Web Adaptor host routes to appropriate AGE servers within the internal network We currently use the DNS alias to define routes within F5 (eg. portal.company.com/arcgis, server.company.com/arcgis). Ideally, our F5 config could be simplified by having a single VIP (eg. maps.company.com) which routes to the Web Adaptor host > and we use the URL context to define where traffic goes (map.company.com/portal, maps.company.com/server, maps.company.com/image). Any gaping holes in this plan? Is the single web adaptor host (with web adaptor for portal, server, image server installed) advisable?

Ok, with some finagling I think I made some progress. Using Power Automate, when an HTTP request is received > loop through Events > post an attribute to slack. So, now using the Power Automate webhook URL rather than the ootb one coming from Slack. Still trying to wrap my head around how to configure the message and what the different attributes are. If anyone has done this with the ootb Slack webhook I would be curious to see how it's done 😊

Has any successfully configured ArcGIS Monitor 2023.3 to send Slack notifications? I created a slack app and created an incoming webhook URL. Plugged that into Monitor but do not receive alerts. Is there a step I'm missing? Additionally, is there a way to test webhooks from ArcGIS Monitor? Such that I want to send a test notification similar to how I can send a test email. Thanks.

Hey @ArchitSrivastava thanks for those links. I was able to confirm I can create files/directories in PowerShell from my orchestration machine, to the end nodes. I've narrowed down the issue to our DFS location where we are placing the config-store & directories. This is a shared space for the business so they've likely blocked winRM connections. So we'll have to figure out a different storage solution for the ArcGIS Servers.

We experienced this as well after Windows Server patching/updates. Data Store service is running, validates with ArcGIS Server, hosted services are started, but they do not load in Portal's map viewer nor in ArcGIS Pro. Running the describe data store utility did not show anything out of the norm. Restarting the Data Store service did not resolve. Fix: Reboot ArcGIS Enteprise components in this order: Stop: Data Store, Server, Portal Wait a few minutes Start: Data Store, Server, wait a few minutes, Start Portal, wait a few minutes This allowed hosted layers to work in Portal now. In ArcGIS Pro 3.1 and 3.2 we had to start with new Projects for the hosted layers to begin working. Existing maps continued to show the same errors, even after re-adding layers/updating sources. Also wanted to note: This outage has happened twice before. In those instances we ran the Configure ArcGIS Server account and input the same credentials we had used before, and this also solved the issue. Rebooting windows services fixed it for us in this instance but the configure service account might be something to try if that doesn't work.

Attempting to launch ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 via PowerShell DSC. Our environment will contain Portal, DataStore and 2 ArcGIS Servers. For this reason, the config-store and directories are on a shared network location: \\fileshare.test.com\dfs\arcgis\arcgisserver\config-store The ArcGIS Service account is a domain account and has full control on the arcgis folder. I'm getting this error: Failed to create the site. The specified configuration store location is not accessible. Ensure that the ArcGIS Server account has read and write access to the lo cation." JSON file is configured like so for config-store: "ConfigStoreLocation":"\\\\fileshare.test.com\\dfs\\arcgis\\arcgisserver\\config-store" If I manually configure the site, I can successfully set the config store. Seems like the issue is creating the site via dsc. Any ideas or specific permissions I need to allow for the ArcGIS Server account?
