We are running ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1. I followed this doc here to bulk publish around 50 feature services: Publish layers in bulk from a user-managed data store—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise As the doc states, editing is not enabled by default. Is there a way (either through Portal/Server Manager or using Python) to go into the service properties and enable editing?

Thumbs up on this one. We need to bulk publish around 50 feature services with editing enabled. It's a pain point having to go back to Server Manager and update the service properties manually. If anyone has any scripts to automate this step that would also work.

Try clearing your browser's cache after republishing, something could be hung up there. You should not have to republish multiple time for each client accessing the rest service. Hope that helps 🙂

You may want to try updating/overwriting the existing service after making the bulk change.

I ran into this today while transferring a Web AppBuilder app from Portal to Portal. After you transfer, you need to edit the items JSON in AGO Assistant and replace any instances of the old Portal URL to the new Portal. Doing this let me view/edit it properly.

Verify the folder path actually exists and you can read data there. Just a guess here but you may have to work with your IT department to make sure these files can be read by ArcGIS. Also, your file path is extremely long, with spaces and special characters. I recommend shortening it up. As a test, you can copy the contents to your C drive with a short file path and test that.

I am not 100% sure about this but you may be able to create a layer view with a subset of the data you need. Then share that appropriately. Create hosted feature layer views—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise

Unfortunately, no direct solution. We did end up revising this text here with descriptive instructions on how to use the widget. You should be able to edit this text from the Portal/AGO Web AppBuilder without needing the developer edition.

Harsh, Yes - I was able to resolve this by using the Oauth2 sign in window rather than the default login popup. Steps I followed are listed here by @SethLewis1 . Big thanks for Seth for his answer.

I have all sorts of weird things happen when I try to do this from Pro 2.7. Reverting to ArcGIS Desktop 1071 has worked for me. Rebuild sounds like it's needed in your case.

Interesting, thanks for the response. I am trying to wrap my head around this since I am a GIS Analyst by training that was recently pulled into the GIS Admin role. You mentioned upgrading ArcGIS Server, is this standalone ArcGIS Server upgrades or ArcGIS Enterprise upgrades?

We recently deployed a new version of Enterprise 1081. We have several maps/apps/services on 1071. I am planning to re-publish the REST services to 1081 and rebuild my maps there. But I have spent a significant amount of time on configuring Web AppBuilder apps..is there a way to load these directly into the new 1081 Portal and point it to the new map. Ideally without the 1081 Developer Edition. Thanks

I see. You will need to download the zip file after configuring it in WAB Dev Edition > Customize it how you need it > Then on a web server like IIS, you need to create a website and place the WAB files for your application there.

Deploying Web AppBuilder really just means putting it on a website - like esri.com or mywebsite.com A web server is a machine designed to serve out these websites. One Example is Windows IIS If this is truly what you need, I recommend you work with your IT people to handle the web server, networking, infrastructure end. Then you can provide them to the Web AppBuilder zipfile to put on the web server and make your website load your web app. Otherwise, simply sharing the web appbuilder URL from ArcGIS Online or Portal sounds like it should suffice for you - no need to host/deploy it.

Someone in one of the live esri UC sessions asked this yesterday. Esri responded it's in the roadmap to build out something like this but currently not available. They did mention there are some 3rd party esri partner solutions for this.
